Hi friemds,
Supreme court has ordered to provide atleast 25% free education to school students. Do you think that schools management will follow this rule?
I came to know that big schools(which got goodwill & collecting higher fees) are providing free education to merit students by conducting mock tests in differents schools. Ofcourse they are providing free education but here its the matter of results. Real poor people are still studying in lower category private schools. Its become dream for them to study A category schools.
Will poor people is getting benefit out of this? Most of the government schools are providing mid-day meals to students. But in private schools ,they wiilnot provide such type of benefits.
Do you think that poor students & their parents shows interest in joining private school without any benefits like Mid-day meals, free books etc..?

Hi,
If this is a order from the supreme court then the schools will have to follow it. There are no ifs and buts in it. Private schools will have mainly the commercial angle in joining the students. The supreme courts decision will come to them as a blow for their commercial interests but lets be assured they are not going to loose the revenue, the will hike the fee on the rest 75% if they are offering free education to 25% of the seats.
Giving free education to merit students is nothing but an advertising angle because they know that the student will perform better and by promoting his education they are going to benefit from the admissions in two ways a) they can advertise that they provide free education to merit students b) they can also say that their school has produced so many merit students.
Because of the amenities the private schools provide we can't say they should not have commercial interest but if the schools encourage the concept of free education to the poor then they should also not charge more from the rest.

Yes I totally agree with you that private schools and colleges should give free education to poor people and I think the percentage of 25 is good; as they do earn good amount from other students who are rich.
It is not hidden that these private figure earn a lot of money from the parents of rich children; so atleast they can help the society by not charging a single money from student who don't have much to give them.
This way they will also earn and will be able to help the society by helping the poor people.

As far as i think, this verdict of Supreme Court will be beneficial for the poor and other backward students because i believe that private schools provide much better required facilities to the students than the government schools and the education system in the private schools are also very good. A very strict rules and regulations are followed in private school.

Lienda
