Early learning of children - how soon to begin education?

Posted Date: 22 Apr 2012      Posted By:: Veena Sharma     Member Level: Diamond    Member Rank: 28     Points: 5 (Rs 5)   Responses: 17

I believe that a small kid should start his or her early education as soon as possible. And it is the responsibility of the parents to do so. But how to make it possible for a small child?

According to me; they should be provided with toys which are quite educational and because of which they will be enjoying it as well as they will start there knowledge from that toys itself. And can have fun too.

What is your view regarding the same; do you think that they should be taught very early or can the parents wait for sometime?

Whether you make them learn or not I am the ardent lover of children growth process and try to study them in detail from the age of 3 months itself. Their grasping power is amazing and can understand and remember our commands if once said. Children knows who are their real likers and who hate them. That is why children are not comfortable with everybody. By the age of five itself they acquire the brain development of adult, but only thing is that we fear to give him the over dose of the knowledge.

Hello veena,
In today's world competition is not only between children, but also between parents.
Now-a-days Parents are more concern.Everyday they think about their child improvement by providing different types of toys, puzzles, video games and much more.
brain activity is the most vital part in everybody's life.babies are born learning.
Early learning basically depends on child perception. If a child has the ability to percept everthing, then he/she can go for early education .improper education or study without play affect a child's brain development.
Not only Creative educational toys ,but also Tv games and other source of brain development play an important role in early learning.
early learning is the key element that helps in building a good foundation for child's educational success .
Not only educational toys, but also parental interaction are important for a child overall personalities.

Children will learn themselves in early age. Self awareness and understanding of surroundings occurs within the first two years. After three, a friendly attitude towards studies should be created in their mind. If we force them to learn, they may hate learning. When a friendly attitude towards studies is created in their mind, surely they will perform well in future. It is the duty of parents.

Hi Veena,
A child when becomes eligible for going to playschool at the age of 4 is good and it will develop their learning skills in proper manner. The child must get enough time for playing and it will develop their mental attitude towards other people. We must encourage the attitude of the childrens and support them at every stage to feel comfortable with their life.

In my opinion, a child begins to learn as he begins to observe the things and people nearby him. As he grows with the time, he is able to understand the language, action of the people. Therefore, parents must be very careful in their action and language because children have very good grasping power. Parents should talk to their child and encourage him to speak. By the age of 2, parents can also provide toys, puzzle games to increase their thinking and mental power.

Madhvee

I totally agree with Madhvee Chaubey. When a child starts observing things around him / her, it shows that the child is trying to learn things from his / her surroundings. And hence as mentioned by Madhvee parents need to be very careful in their actions and speech as well and they need to encourage the child in learning various things not only by providing the child with toys and the like but encouraging the child's curiosity of things instead of shouting at the child for each and every action of his / her.

My view is let the children enjoy playing in their childhool and thereby we,the parents also enjoying their play. Many parents put their children in play schools, nursery schools etc., even in thier tender age at 3 etc., to make free themselves from the children. This is not at all good totally as the same mentality formed in them and so, the present (aged)parents are suffering a lot. Youngsters! Donot do the same mistake as your parents did!

Hello,
Yes very true, children should be given education from childhood itself but in certain measure without depriving them from their Bachpan. Small children are like toys, very raw at their age. So we should definitely understand what they want at what time. Some people become more aggressive when children become naughty. They should be given their own society like other child of same age so that they mingle and become open and learn the courage of speaking to others.

You can teach them with any toys they have like cars, bikes or flowers, numbers, boxes anything. Start with the colors and numbers along with alphabets. If you have told them at the age of 3 months they will grasp and repeat the same some other time at the age of 5 or 6 months when it is related to the same matter. Children at the age of 1 year like to scribble, hence teach some alphabets by scribbling itself. At the age of 3years-they like colors hence draw an apple or mango, ask them to color.

Hence the first teaching starts in the home itself.

Yes, early education should start from the parents itself at home. Parents are always the first teachers for students. Before their child enters the school parents teach so many good things for their child. When the child start speaking they can train the child to speak different words and also to speak clearly. As the child grows slowly, the parents has to make the child to learn some good habits and also they have to train the child how to behave in a disciplined way. Later they can send the child to a Play school to get well socialized. All these different cares taken by the parents prior to the joining of the child in school and its positive influence will be reflected in the future.

The informal education of the child starts when the mother and other household inmates starts speaking to the child. The formal education of the child starts when we send our children to schools. The children are sent to play schools, especially by the working parents, where they are taken care of the teachers and the ayahs who look after the eating, cleanliness and playing needs of the children. In addition, the children depending on their age also learn alphabets, numbers, nursery rhymes. Besides, the play schools there are nursery schools where the children between the age groups 2 - 3 years are admitted. The teaching is mostly oral for this group of children mingled with playing and singing sessions. After this, the children go to pre-primary schools which admit children from the age of 3+ years. These schools are known by several names like kindergarten and prep schools. Most of the children are directly admitted to these schools without going through the play schools or nursery classes. The only criteria for admission is that the child must have completed the age of three years. In these schools, writing work is also given along with the oral and reading work. Many schools have introduced multimedia and computers to teach young children.

Formal Education of the students should be start when they are physically and mentally able for this. Don't put the burden on children very early. But you can give your child informal education along with fun, entertainment and growth. You can give him informal education by Educational toys, Historical and religious stories, Teaching him good habits etc. In this way children starts gaining education earlier.

Children learn on their own through their environments. They learn many things from their parents and other children from the very early tender age between 1 and 3 . We should not compel young children below the age of 3 to study books. We should start teaching them the alphabet "A" from the age of 3 only. Send them to nursery after 3 for education.

Hello Veenaji,
In my view from the date of birth itself,a child starts learning. Even the first word he/she utter would be from this learning. Anyhow, the education part should be started from home itself. making them spell good words, giving them useful toys etc. are part of that. Anyhow, many avoid to leave their children to a playschool or nursery. In my opinion, play school is not a necessary factor. Anyhow, leaving them to such institutions in early childhood would help them to adjust with the KG classes. Anyhow, education should be started at a age of 2-3 and that would be useful for the intellectual growth of a child.

I agree that there is a need to convey informal education as soon as possible but this is not so easy, I think the first step can be having a beautiful room for him, in that there can be no limit of imagination as there can be scenes which will make him wonder, there can be toys where he can enjoy them. There are musical instrument on which he would love to play, I have seen that when they see any musical instrument like Piano etc which as least chances of breaking than they are attracted towards them ,we can have small slipping game for him, in this way he can adapt as soon as we want. But we will also lay stress on the fact that we are not going to overshadow what he likes, where he develops, may be things will not suit him, may be he may fear of scenes so it is the duty of mother to watch that, actually I have a three year old girl in my neighbor, she was very interested in inverter and she touched that accidentally and got a shock, can we imagine how strong that can be, I am happy that now she is fine but we need to take care of all these things too.

Hi

Children are great learner and also are great observers. Children learn most of the things from their patent especially from their mother. They constantly observe their parents and sometime they try to copy what the patent are doing. So it is very important for the parents to teach their child some good behaviour and educate them at the early stage only, if the root is made strong then it is obvious that the future tree will be much stronger. The first thing parents should do is to educate their child to be social, respectful and to be be well behaved in front of other. Secondly, parents should try to understand the good productive qualities of the child and according to that they should make out some future plans for their child. If the child like dancing then the parents should get the child an admission in some dance school, if the child likes to draw then crayons and drawing book should be given to them to express their creativity. A proper upbringing of a child brings about a lot of difference in the child and it can be observed when the child become bigger and start showing their talents in a broader sense.

Lienda

Education is the way to groom. Children needs early education to groom quickly. Children of 21st century are very sharp. They some time behave like very commanding people and put advises to their parents...Dad...What is to do and what should not be done. Early education may further strengthen their personality and enhance the confidence.
