Coconut enhances your Beauty. That is why Keralites are always ahead in beauty. Most of us know that drinking coconut water is good for the health. But using of coconut oil to the hair enhances its growth with good fragrance too. Tender coconut mixed with coconut water can be used as face cream. Just apply it before the bath and after taking bath your face looks ever glowing. That is why we see over enthusiasm on the faces of Kerala girls. Their face looks most beautiful. Coconut milk added with basin can stop blackening of face due to sunshine effect. Any comment on this ?

Hi
Thank you sir for sharing these information regarding the uses of coconut. Many of us may not even be aware about these qualities of the coconut. I think most of us only know to drink the coconut water and when it is finished then we just throw it away. After knowing the merits of the coconut, I will try my best to use the inner part of the coconut in some good ways. That was really nice of you sir to share this info.

Hello
Because of its nutrient qualities Coconut is always been recommended by many physicians, beauticians and hair stylists etc.
coconut tree in vedas known as "KALPTARU" means the tree which fulfill all the wishes and it is 100% true, coconut provides us many by products such as fibers for making rope, leafs to cover the roofs of hut, wood for fire, oil for cooking, fruit for water, its pulp for eating and cooking.
Like wise Keralites using coconut oil and water as beauty product from ancient times and it may be one of the reason behind their beautiful faces.

I agree Mr. Mohanji. Keralites are definetly ahead in beauty as you said. I will support it because I am a Keralite and I should stand for them. All the parts of a coconut tree are useful. Its leaves can be used as roof for huts, we use tender coconut juice, once it becomes coconut, we extract oil from it, we take coconut milk out of it or we scrape it and use it in curries. The wood can be used in burner. The coconut husk is used for making crafted items and mats. Coir is made out of coconut husks. Coconut oil is very good for your hair and it enhances its growth. Coconut oil is a cholestrol free oil. Coconut milk is used in various cosmetic products.

Hello,
I agree that coconut is useful for us in so many different ways as described by fellow members but I beg to disagree with the title.
We have so many fellow female members from others states beside Andhra and Kerala. Do not you all female members think it is a jaundiced view?
Any comments from the female members of other states beside Andhra and Kerala, please?

I can agree that Kerala is very beautiful with coconut trees spread around the state. Also I can agree that Keralites are healthy due to coconut eating. But I am deeply very sorry to accept that the Keralites are beautiful and ahead in beauty due to the coconuts available in Kerala. I can accept that Keralites have the habit of applying coconut oil to maintain their hair and their physical strength. Keralites, especially females have very extra long beautiful hair among the Indians. As mustard is for north coconut is for south. Keralites are not that soft by look. They are rough and tough and bold by look. The author should have paid a visit to Kerala before posting this thread, I strongly feel.
Is there any Keralite beauty who got the Miss universe or Miss world award to prove they are most beautiful Indian. Aishwarya is from Karnataka, Priyanka is from Punjab, Lara dutta and Sushmita sen are from Bengal. Why there is no shining coconut girl from Kerala ?.
Members, please raise up and justify the statement of the author after giving a thought to my response.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. And beauty is something which is skin deep as well. Hence in my opinion every individual creation of God has its own beauty in its own way. All humans are beautiful / handsome in one way or the other.
However coming to the topic, coconut is one such tree for which almost all the parts are useful in one way or the other. Even the waste coir is very useful in making mats and the leaves too are used for making temporary shelters. It is evident that coconut has a nutritive supplement which helps in enhancing female hormones and thus helps not only in providing physical beauty but also helps in the healthy functioning of the female reproductive organs. And even it helps in the healthy growth of a luxurious hair which is considered a beauty for women.

Mr Sun if no Keralite could become a Miss India or Miss world, does not mean their beauty. In other words they are educated lot and wont feel the importance of being Miss India or Universe.

Coconut is off course the best natural health maintenance idea. I am from Kerala and I agree that coconut is good for health. It has also helped in the health of Keralites. Anyhow I don't agree that Keralites are more beautiful. You might be feeling so and as a member from Kerala I think North Indians are more beautiful. Well we can't define beauty in such words and so all Indians are beautiful and stop the arguments over that issue. Mohan sir just meant to show the merit of coconut and from my personal experiences I prominent the usage of coconut.

I cannot agree with you on your comment, because last year one girl from kerala participated in the Miss India contest and she became the runner up. It is great to stand in the runer up place and it shows her beauty and confidence in his life. Her name is 'Miss Parvathy Omanakutan' from Thiruvalla, Kerala. She is having good natural beauty and that is reason why she has been elected as the runner up.

Freddy & Ajai,
None of the members has denied the nutritional values of coconut and different usages of its tree. I could not agree more with Kalyani when she says : " Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder."
But, the point of contention was that 'the author's jaundiced view and his own ill-drawn conclusions which are not scientifically proven'. The title of the thread needed some amendment but he went on to defend it with more inappropriate reasoning.

Keralites use all parts of coconut tree in their day to day lives. They are said to take coconut oil bath daily which enhances their skin texture. Apart from this, they use the coconut milk in almost all their recipes. Coconut leaves are dried to make brooms, I have a coconut tree in my home and I have seen my maid making brooms from its leaves on her own. Coconut has an overall benefits but some people say that over consumption of coconut might increase blood pressure. I don't know how far it is true but BP and sugar patients are advised against consuming coconut.

Thank you so so much for this great advice. I knew that coconut is very good for health, as I was having coconut water every single day when I was pregnant with my baby boy; but I was not aware of it benefit to skin.
But now, thanks to you; I know the secret to great hair and skin too. This remedy is not much expensive and as well as take very less time; and that what I wanted I don't get time to take care of my skin.
Once again thank ou so much and I will surely apply it; answer I have noted down it in my notepad and will make it in practice as well.

I think we cannot judge the qualities of a coconut on the basis of area which is using it. I mean there are number of vendors who have been selling coconut here in Delhi area too but this can never be said that here the people are ahead in beauty. I think we need to reformat the mindset that beauty is from the features and looks, the qualities which one person gains are the actual reason. I think this directly draws that we need to make a responsible comment instead of writing anything.And where are the reports which prove that Kerala people are ahead in beauty?
Every region has its own beauty definition. There is no doubt that the features of South Indians are very enticing.

What freddy has said, and what you have commented and appreciated. You have created this thread that Kerala is ahead of beauty. And you have shifted to say that keralites are educated. Are you questioning the beauty related to Kerala coconuts or questioning the education related to Kerala's huge coconuts. As Iti said, every state has its own beauty defined. All those who consume coconut can not be beautiful or well educated. All those who do not use coconut can not be ugly and illeterate. Anyhow you have educated the ISC ladies of other states to grow their short hair into long hair through application of coconut oil through this thread. Hair is not the only part to be beautiful to look more beautiful.

Mr Mohan has only made a generalisation of some favourite points he observed. It can be at best be said as favourable statistics.
Coconut is not just a specialty for Kerala. The Konkan coast is having coconut trees in plenty and the people there use coconuts in daily use. Many other coasts and countries also have coconuts and coconut products have prime users in those places.
While it is a fact, which is now getting scientifically proven that coconut has many healthy effects. It has oil for skin, fibre and protein, glucose and minerals in proper content. Coconut water is one of the best manufactured(naturally) and preserved drink.
It is a real nature's wonder how the water and kernel are preserved so
well - a real technological marvel.( In sideline ,another hint- This point has made the practice of taking the Ghee offering to Sabarimala temple inside coconuts.)
