How to earn good cash credits by contributing in Ask Expert section?

Posted Date: 23 May 2012      Posted By:: Akanksha P.V       Member Level: Gold    Member Rank: 238     Points: 5   Responses: 19

Ask Expert section is another important section after resources on ISC. The management has decided to give good cash credits in this section too. I would thus like to bring a few points to the notice of all the Ask Expert contributors to optimise their posts so that they can earn good cash credits from Ask Expert.

Guidelines for posting Ask Expert Questions
1. Only questions which need expert advise should be posted on Ask Expert.
2. The title of the question should be apt, grammatically correct and should briefly describe the exact problem. Titles should not be like "Need help on one issue", "Can someone help me with this problem" etc.
3. The body of the question should be descriptive and should not merely repeat what is written in the title.
4. The text in the title and description should be properly punctuated. One character space should always be left after a punctuation mark.
5. The text should be only in sentence casing. No title casing, camel casing, Upper casing or lower casing.
6. Text should be in proper English. No slang or sms kind of language(like 'u' for 'you' etc.) should be used.
7. Please do not make excessive use of punctuation marks like "Please help!!!!" or "I am looking for info abt Indore....."
8. Please do not use heading tags and bold tags in the question.

An example: If you want to know about the RSA alogorithm from network security. You should post an Ask Expert Question like:

Title: What is an RSA Algorithm in Network Security?
Description: I am in final year B.E(CSE) and have a subject Network Security. There is a topic RSA Algorithm in our syllabus which I am finding hard to understand. Can anyone of you explain me exactly what is an RSA Algorithm and what are the operations involved in it.

Guidelines for posting Ask Expert Answers
1. One basic rule here is respond only when you actually know the answer to the question. No vague answers please!
2. The answers should be in proper English, proper casing and should be properly punctuated. Dont use unnecessary punctuation marks.
3. The answers should be well explained and at the same time should be to the point. Only such answers would be awarded good cash credits.
4. Do not try to unnecessarily make the answers lengthy. The criteria for getting good cash credits is only the quality of the answers and not the length alone.
5. Please do not use heading tags(h1,h2,h3 etc.) in the responses. However, if really required (as in case of highlighting sub headings) you can use bold(b) tag. But do not over do it.
6. Do not put salutations like "Hi" or end with "Regards" etc. It is also not necessary to put in the name of the person who made the query(as is done in the Forum)> Simply give the answer.

We look forward to answers with proper description.

For eg. If a question is about "best free antiviruses available for download".

Suppose your answer here is Norton antivirus. Then in your answer you can include the following points:
1. You suggest Norton antivirus and In what way is it better than any other?
2. Or is it as good as McAfee/Avast/AVG etc.?
3. If it is a paid one, what is the price?
4. If it is free, how to get a free version and how to install it? etc.

Only answers with proper details and description would be eligible for good credits. Not only such answers would fetch you good credits from ISC but would also optimize your answers for a better ranking on search engines. Better ranking means better revenue.

Dear members,

Onething I feel many of you are misunderstanding here is about the point to point annswers. By saying to the point answers I mean the answers should include about the topic being discussed.

It does not mean that 1 - 2 line answers will be considered as to the point. Whenever someone answers a question and tries to include all the possible relevant points most of the time the answers become a little long.

As an example If you are answering a question like "What is an EMI", a good answer would include its definition, some description about what are loans, how is an EMI calculated, What all types of EMI options are provided by the loan providers etc. Such answers would definitely earn good credits.

However, some people may say point to point means they would just give the definition of EMI as per the question. Such answers too would earn you some cash credit(1Rs or 2Rs) but only the first few ones. Later we expect members to provide some more details on the topic.

Yes but if a members starts discussing about loans, types of loans, repayment of loans etc. only and divert the topic, his/her answer would be considered as a bad response inspite of the length of the answer.

Thanks & Regards,
