Why some mothers are cunning by shunning the breast milk to their infants ? Mothers must know the importance of breast feeding their children. Breastfeeding burns approximately 500 calories a day which is really a matter to ponder over.It reduces risks of breast and ovarian cancer later in life and this must be well understood by the women folks. Breastfeeding aids the uterus returning to original size after birth which many mothers wont know. Breastfeeding exposes your baby to many different tastes and smells and hence he will take all the food without hesitation once he grows up. Breast Feeding delays the return of menstrual periods and may aid in spacing pregnancies. And above all Breastfeeding creates a strong bond between mother and child. Any comments on this please ?

Mohan,
Very good to see a small article on goodness of breastfeeding. I think all Mothers will understand this and try to feed breast milk to their babies. Especially mothers who are interested in maintaining their breasts for good look should comedown and understand the effect of breast feeding. What is important to a mother is; to care and nurture her baby to grow well without any disease. Breast feed helps lot to overcome health problems .

I like your statement,"And above all Breastfeeding creates a strong bond between mother and child". I will add to say that it is like a Fevicol bond that can get attached so strongly and can not be separated.

By feeding and cuddling the baby, a mother gets closer to the child than the father. Because no body knows babies better than mother.

I think that this is the reason why even in animals there exists a close relation between mother and baby. So think we are humans full of senses. What a great impact it would be having on us.
