Hi Friends,

By seeing the title, you would know that my question is on which one is best between ICSE and CBSE.

I have to put my 3yrs old son in school next year. I read all informations abt both the boards that were available in this site.

I dont want my kid to be a good scorer but an outstanding performer and all rounder. Thiking futuristically, pls suggest me the best board of school and the best schools available for that boards.

Also, tell me how gateway, ashram and KFI schools which has ICSE syllabus.

Regards,
Viji

For me ICSE is best for any student, since you laid stress that you don't want your kid to be a scorer but an outstanding performer. ICSE have wider syllabus than CBSE and can be considered bit difficult too. But to have strong fundamentals of every subject ICSE is the best platform. Speaking out of experience even a weak student passed out from ICSE school have better command over English as compared to the one from CBSE school. If student is being serious in his studies it can sprinkle a magic to his career as he would have strong base. Further from competitive point of view a child pass out from ICSE holds vivid knowledge and he even learn to prepare project on different topics which adds another plus points. ICSE promotes overall educational development in any child, it even seeks to develop the creativity by paper of arts and crafts. SO I suggest you that send your child to ICSE school let him grasp strong fundamental and latter while opting for 12th he may switch to CBSE.

I think that ICSE is better than CBSE in all respect. The course content, the syllabus, the quality, the value given to English and the quality of schools is better in ICSE than CBSE. Also ICSE is a very good option for those who are planning to gain some knowledge and not only grades. I don't say that CBSE is bad, but the discipline and quality of ICSE makes it a superior board. I think that it is the best board in India.

In my opinion,CBSE is better because it facilitates easy understanding. It's a fact that ICSE provides syllabus tougher than CBSE and moves one class ahead but I think things should move step by step. Why do any syllabus in advance and just stress yourself. CBSE students not only perform well but are all rounders too and are quite satisfied as well. As far as English is concerned, I think both of them are equivalent. I am not sure if ISC allows me to quote an example but I consider it necessary to mention-Anshit Goyal,AIIMS topper 2011 is a scholar from CBSE and even an all-rounder in sports, craft, has an excellence in English. He is very very good in anything you mention, and how I know so much is not the matter of consideration.I am quoting an example of 2011 not 2012 because though the result is out but yet not much information has been revealed. It is not only any one child who is excellent and performs only because he is god-gifted but many CBSE scholars are all-rounders in all fields.

In my opinion, the syllabus of ICSE board is much better in comparison to CBSE board. If you put your child in good English medium school, he will definitely have good command over the language. In ICSE board, the subjects are taught in descriptive manner which leads to deep knowledge of the subject. For example, science subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology will have three papers. While in CBSE board, only a single paper is formed. Same is the situation with social science subjects. But, at 10+2 level, I would suggest you to opt for CBSE Board.

IAS Exam the selection process is of two tire for which you have to prepare first for objective type exam( i.e OMR). For this you have number of books in which The competitive success review, India To day stands first. Only after clearing prelims you will have elective choice for descriptive test. So get ready for dedicated hard work to become an IAS.

I have been grown up in ICSE board school. According to me ISCE is best in all respect. Especially for English, ICSE is best. You child will start learning English right from he get admission in ICSE school. What I have observed through studying in ICSE school that any child should be admitted in ICSE school till standard 10th but for 11th and 12th CBSE will be more beneficial. Because if he chooses science then it will more beneficial to opt CBSE. Otherwise if he goes for Commerce and all then CBSe will also be good. What happen in ICSE that topics and subjects are taught in junior classes only but in CBSE schools the syllabus is very short in junior classes. Till then you can admit him in ICSE board school. But remember search for good school which has some reputation in society. Search for best ICSE school in your locality and admit him.
