Few years back India was considered to be the next super power, but to me it seems to be a myth. We have a long long distance to go, many problems are still in same stage as these were before last ten years. Take any field where one is satisfied with performance of Indians or we can say that India is leading in these thing so India can be a super power. In election we do not have development as an issue, no words should be used by me to say about political situation in India, we all are aware and are fed up of discussing about that. India is not yet be able to have seat in UNSC, for Weapons or missiles India still has to look towards other countries. India do not have good relation with neighboring countries. Also having lots of internal terrorism problems. In India still people are dying of famine and crime against women is like normal thing which happens daily and at many places. When we got an opportunity to host commonwealth games what we did, we all will not forget that for long. After seeing all this, I believe that India is not going to be a super power. This is just a myth. This is my personal opinion, different members may have different views on this topic, please share your views on the topic here.

I too agree with your points, the chance of India's Dream of becoming a super Power by 2020(As per Abdul Kalam)is getting weaker with days passed. Along with above mentioned issues Corruption is also playing major role as an obstacle for the 'Dream'. Many people in Top positions are involved in cases like 2G scam, CWG scam, black money issue also not to forget scams which are happened whithin the states. Untill unlees the government comes with very strong policys to curb the corruption the 'Dream' may not come true
Thanks and Regards, Pavan

We already had a discussion on this topic few days back and in that there were some really nice views by some of the senior members. I think it is a real job, and we have to be sure of our capabilities and should focus more on some serious social issues.

It will be a dream for present generation and may become a reality for future generations. I say this because we are going through the worst economic status ever, when Indian currency has lost all its value in front of other currencies. And a country with poor economy can never be imagined to become a superpower at world level. Also the problem of corruption is the greatest threat to India's position in the world. And at the same time a foreign magazine is saying our prime minister 'underachiever'. How can we see this dream to become an instantaneous reality.

Just look at the present scenery of selecting or electing a president of India. If this is the state in our country where we can not select a good president for our country, do you think we can dream about India becoming a super power in the world. Now I feel ashamed of taking birth in this country. I should not have taken birth here, I feel very bad.

At every field we are lacking, our politicians have become most shameless person on earth. We all had discussed what can be done by us over the problem and what all is going on. So few are still optimistic to have happen few good things but because we want them to happen but reality tells us that it has become a myth only. So not much is there to disscus. Thank you members for your kind participation in this thread.
