The best gift for your sister on Rakshabandhan is the promise that you will always take care of her and never leave her. Gifts don't mean a thing as far as this ritual is considered, in my opinion. Even if you buy a gift worth 5,000 rupees for your sister but you don't really like her, what is the use on rakshabandhan?

My dear friend, a sister never need any gift for Rakshabandhan, what she need is true love, care and promise that no matter what the situation is you will always be on her side, you will always be helpful in any situation. This is what a rakshabandhan mean.

Giving gift to our sisters is just to show our love and affection towards her but it really nothing in front of the spiritual thread which is called "Rakhi".

Best gift for any sister at any age: ensure she gets a good education. Even in today's modern age, there are so many people with this absurd idea that a girl will eventually marry so why waste money on her education? Or the equally absurd view that you should pay high fees for a boy's admissions to a top-notch institute but it is not necessary to do so for a girl.

Irrespective of the age, too, you can give gift vouchers from Crosswords, Landmark, etc or even from an online site so that she can buy books or CDs of her choice.

For a 35+ lady it is a good idea to give her money to invest in postal saving schemes, NSC & the like.

it's good.

My opinion is
1-10 age
11-16 age
17-23 age
23-35 age
35- .. age
it's not age group of rakshabandhan.
Every year we get this special day for sister, it's a special day, because sister get blessings from his brother, sister took some gift (amount, dress etc.,), these gifts are get some smile on her face, that's not a blessings, blessing means give some lovely treat, education and at last marry with good person, finally we have to settle her life like a heaven, she will remember everyday.

Advance happy rakshabandhan.

Thanks & Regards
Nagesh

As a sister I never expects a costly gift from my two elder brothers, their love is best gift for me. Still they use to give me chocolate and some money which I spends on bringing something for decorating home that makes our home more beautiful and their money more precious.
This will be my first rakshbandhan after marriage, just dying to have good time with them.

This is not right but I love you too!

The price of gifts can never be a concern while gifting to sisters. They all expect love and care from their siblings more than anything else. Even a chocolate could be a great gift for all ages. However, in my personal opinion, the best gift can be books.

Books can be a constant companion. Apart from being useful, they can be preserved throughout the life and can also help your sister in improving her knowledge. You can buy books as per her interest and gift her on this Raksha bandhan along-with a promise to stand by her through all odds and guide her in times of difficulty.

As a brother, I knows that what promises I have to keep with my sister.
I know that gift does not matter when it comes to promise and protection of sister.
I do that things cause they are mine first priority to keep my sister happy in any condition.

but I still If I want to give gift to my sisters what would be your answers

It is really difficult for a boy tobuy gift for a girl an different it is your sister then you have to think very hard as you stay with her; so you have to face her after the occasion get over, so think twice before buying. I would suggest for one to ten age should be clothes, toys. And for eleven to twenty-three it can be cash, jewelery, Saree. And above that age it can be little expense like show-pieces and some house--hold stuffs. But the most imo thing is that whenever she needs you, you should be always there for her. That would be the best gift for her.

Hi
In my opinion girls' choices changes with age and maturity hence following gifts would a nice option for following groups:
1-10 age - in this age group girls would like to play with dolls hence dolls or a toy kitchenware set will be nice.

11-16 age - girls in this age group develops hobbies in different field so a hobby kit, musical instrument according to their choices or a cycle would be nice option.

17-23 age - girls in this age group would love to be in the company of their friend and like to spend time with their friend so a super hit movie ticket, a lunch voucher in a famous restaurant will be nice option.Makeover kit or grooming kit will also be nice as they are mostly concerned about their looks

24-35 age - in this age group girls are mostly gadget lovers hence a mobile, laptop, tablet, ipad, ipod stc. will be nice option. They also love to have jewellery.

35+ age - in this age girls are mostly concerned about their future so a mutual fund policy, cash or jewellery would be a nice option.

Above all girls want their brother's love, care and support for their whole life.

thanks.

raksha bandhan, favorite of all the festivals celebrated in India especially for the girls as they await their gifts from their brothers.
whether she is a girl who probably just learnt how to talk or an old women, a gift from a brother this day is always special. whether a poor girl or a rich earning working lady ! a gift is still demanded out of their brothers on this very special festival day !

1-10 aged girls would probably look out for their favorite barbie dolls, and a beautiful pencil box set that they could show off to their girl friends in the school the next day ! or probably some beautiful tiff in boxes that they can carry
11-16 age girls would probably expect their brothers to be a little more understanding and buy them matured gifts now like probably a barbie doll house set with kitchen, hall and a dining room set for them or probably a nice dress
17-23 age would probably expect their brothers to get them a mp3 player or an instrument if they are into music or music CDs if their love of life is music and dancing along with probably a good nice shopping voucher for shopping with their girl friends
23-35 age would expect their brother to write them down a letter and take them out the entire day for their shopping. a bunch of cookies and chocolates and a surprise gifts which could be anything from their favorite maybelline mascara or an eye shadow set
35 years or older would expect their brothers to come and meet them for sure that day and probably expect them to dine out with them and spend a good quality time with them. a hand bag or a nice set of ganesh ji ki murti could also be gifted to them .

give her a chocolate . that too dairy milk. and apart from that find out what her wants are indirectly. then present that along with the chocolate. the important point is the thing you give her should reflect your love towards her.
