Creative story writing contest - winners

18 members sent their votes for the scary/mystery story contest, out of which one member's votes were not considered as he did not send in the given range of 0 to 5.

The winner is Prateek. He wins a cash award of Rs.100/-

3 runners-up are:

2. Nupur

3. Lakshmi
- Each of them gets a cash award of Rs.50/-.

As per the members' feedback, the disqualified entry with highest votes will get a consolation prize. This entry is that of Ajith Kumar. He gets a cash award of Rs.25/-.

Hello fellow members Thanks to all of you and Vandana for the votes as well as wishes. I would also like to congratulate other winners Nadeem ji, Nupur, Lakshmi and Ajith. This contest reminded me of the story contest I had participated in 2009 during my early days in ISC. It was a beautiful experience both times. Though I'm not a professional writer, based on the observations, I would like to advise few of the other writers (who are interested in pursuing story writing professionally or as an amateur) that plot of the story is like the heart of the body. Even with excellent narrative and eloquence in writing, the story would serve no purpose if there is no proper plot in place. I wanted to share this piece of advice because I had found that few of the entries had everything right, but the plot was very thin and that is often the difference between a good and an OK story. Thanks again.
