Why Indians are lagging behind at Olympics?

India being the second largest populated country, has been performing poorly at Olympics for a long time now. What could be the reasons for this? Is it the laid back attitude or Indians are just too interested in the glamour of Bollywood and Cricket than anything else? Some people try to justify it by saying that Indians are the brainy race and so poor performance is acceptable.
Shouldn't Indians stop participating in Olympics? Why do people have to rely on some handful players to win medals at Olympics? Who's to be blamed for this?

Yeah, I agree with you buddy. Indian lack the zeal of 100% professionalism in their relevant fields of atheletics. The hunger for win is the lowest in them which has caused India to lag down almost at the bottom of the medals table.
