Are marks really an essential criteria even when you have passed the minimum eligibility?

Are marks as important factors as the overall personality of an individual ?
Are verbal communication skills not as important as written ?
to evaluate and interpret whether a candidate can perform practically as well not as important ?
why do all colleges and job interviewers emphasis so much on marks still these days?

in this competitive world today who will survive are people who have high E.Q. or people with I.Q. ?

Dear Friend,
Marks are important to make first impression. How could you get the marks is not important. Marks should be given first priority to call for initial approach. Here these marks will be played a crucial role to get employer's attention.
Marks are not played major role for doing your job. your commitment and dedication towards your work is the most important than all other qualifications what you acquired.

Agree with Mr. Rao above. First you have to enter into the job world by clearing your interview for which good marks are somewhere necessary.
In fact good marks and good IQ are complementary. It would be a bit difficult for a candidate to survive in a job if there is absence of either good marks or good IQ. So the presence of both is necessary. If a candidate is allowed in an interview just because of good IQ then what would happen to the entire education system and other candidate who is well qualified.

However another fact is to perform well in job your attitude and learning capability plays an important role and not your marks.

Hello Aksh,
Marks are important because it gives the interviewer an idea of how consistently you have been performing. If yours is a skilled job you would require knowledge on the subject and only your marks can point out how well you know the subject. Communication skills are also important and that is why proper interviews are conducted along with group discussion. Today companies are looking for evenly balanced candidates. They do not want just bookworms they look for candidates who have had an exposure in various fields. A good CV is one that talks about co curricular activity and academics. Students who feel they can impress with just a good CGPA are disappointed because they actually lack what the companies want these days.

A love affair with knowledge will never end in heartbreak!

Our examination pattern is based on the whole academic year. The result of the examination indicates the performance of individual through out the whole year.It is the only criteria through which any one can judge the performance. Marks are necessary for admission up to interview. The understanding of what you learned is important. The oral communication reflects your communication skill, convincing skill and understanding level. Where as written examination indicates your writing skill, language knowledge, thought level. Both the skills are essential to attain top position in any big firm.
