As the 2012 London Olympics have concluded, India has stood in 55 th spot in the Medals tally with 6 medals (2 Sliver and 4 Bronze) . Plenty of big names of Indian sports-persons have been participated in Olympics and tried their luck. Majority of Indian contenders showed dismal performance where as some brave and hardworking contenders have achieved good results. Vijay Kumar from Shooting and Sushil Kumar from Wrestling have won Silver medals, Gagan Narang from Shooting, Saina Nehwal from Badminton, Meri Kom from Boxing and Yogeshwar Dutt from Wrestling has won Bronze medals. The most disastrous performance came from Tennis, Archery and even plenty of controversial decisions have been registered against Indian boxers in boxing event. Even though India has doubled its medal tally in compare with 2008 Beijing Olympics but failed to win a single Gold medal this time. Well members how do you rate the overall performance of Indian sports persons in 2012 London Olympics, are you satisfied with their performance or not?

First one is with respect to the past performance of Indian players in the Olympics and the second is according to the performance of the country in the olympics. According to first, we can conclude that our players performed better than that of past olympics and their efforts are admirable. They did satisfactory up to some extent. Now if consider the second aspect, then it seems to a huge matter of shame for all Indian that a nation of 121 crores population could won only a few medal and having no gold medal.Even very very small countries are upper than India in the medal tally. Very shameful condition for India and Its citizens.

We may not have won the Gold but we are able to double the medals and it is a big boost. Just before Beijing Olympic if you see our records we were never won more than one medal so, the jinx has been broken in Beijing and now in London we have seen the better performance.
We always connect our population with the Olympic result but have anyone noticed that out of 121 crore people how many are truly supporter of other sports than Cricket in India.
So, in 365 days we just care 15-20 days in Olympic and rest days we devoted to game Cricket if we do that than we do not have any right of accusing our population for the poor result in Olympic.

This is because I think we expected a few more medals this time around and unfortunately many sports which were expected to get medals for India like Archery and Boxing didn't live up to their billing. The medal prospects in the sport of Archery were really high and bright as the presence of the world 's number one ranked archer was there. But she didn't really peak at the right time and ended up without even qualifying for the Finals. Another big disappointment was the Boxing section of men's which really was a shadow of itself.
But at the same time, we have surprises in the form of vijay Kumar's silver and yogeshwar's bronze in Wrestling. Hence since we won medals in sports which we didn't expect but lost out in expected sports, I feel its 50-50.

At-least from now onwards we have to concentrate more on other sports and offer all facilities to sports-persons to do better in the next Olympics.

We all apreciate those athelets who perform well and won medals. But hockey team not perform well this is very bad situation for us. Sushil kumar perform great and we all hope that India show better performance in next olympics.

As you said we got double the medal that we got in 2008 Beijing Olympics which satisfied me. And it was a great show by Sushil Kumar and Gagan Narang who won the silver medal. But everyone expected a sure gold from Saina Nehwal, it went in vain. And I won't depress Yogeshwar Dutt for winning bronze, he is a very good wrestler with a great sports spirit, even then it a very difficult task to compete three matches in a row that too in a very short period of time break but he did it.
The most disastrous thing that happened in recent Olympics is wash out of our hockey team. My god! Is this the way to play our national game? None of the match they won, even they lost 12th position match.
50% that makes unsatisfied is that, next to China we are the largely populated country in the world yet we couldn't see participates in all the games that were conducted in Olympics. Winning or losing is secondary but at least we must have participated in all the games. Only India and China should compete for first two places because we have plenty of human resource that is left without utilizing.
Well at the beginning of Olympics 2012 I thought no one is going to win medal other than Saina Nehwal. But we got enough. Let us satisfy with what we got.
