Yes, true the tune was from the old version of 'Mile Sur Tumhara' was simply awesome. It touches the soul. The video was also done so well where the new version of the same song could not achieve that much though it is also done very well.

Though we all had been watching this song mostly on Doordarshan during childhood days, we never knew this information about the song. In fact the song arouses the spirit of patriotism in most of the Indians and I am sure this is remembered much by all

This was one of my most heard songs and it was the only one which I understood as I was really young when I heard it for the first time. It was on the DD channel on TV and really settled in my mind since then. Every now and then I hear it as it is sung by many famous singers in tandem. Also, the lyrics are so gorgeous and inspiring that one cannot simply avoid humming it when ever it is being played on the TV or any where else. I have loved it very much and the version in which so many famous singers take turns in singing each line of the song really explains its true meaning.
Unity in diversity and the title means that your tune and my tune may/shall meet into a single song!

The Famous classical singer Bhimsen joshi who was not willing to sing few lines in any song who is the first person seen in the video of this song at . The director and other member related to this song ask him to sing the whole song but at the time he came to know that Bhimsen joshi is only for 45 seconds in the video firstly he was angry at all the people related to that song but after seeing the song he was quite happy as the song shows the different culture, religion and heritage in one place. And also shows our culture of "unity in the diversity". Now he is no more in this world but with this song his voice will always remain alive in our hearts.

I had listened this song when I was teen, at that time there were no dishtvs in every home and we have to see the one channel and that was Doordarshan. This was always played at that time and is very nice one!

Other channels should also play this lovely National integration song which brings all the celebrities to one platform.

In my childhood, mostly my dad did not support having a cable TV connection as he believed that it simply ruined the children by addicting them to unwanted serials, cartoons etc. Hence, all I had was this DD and I am really proud and glad to say that I have heard this song countless times on DD. How ever, as recently, my dad changed his mind and we finally got cable TV, I was really surprised to find that not even a single channel played such songs, not even close. Not even once a day are such patriotic songs played. Also, these are only played during national festivals and the reason is obvious. They only want TRP ratings and will do anything and everything for them.
Really sad on the part of the Indian television network.
