Are you in favor or against in holding Olympic games in India? |

Olympic games are considered to be one of the greatest events of sporting world. Since the history of Olympics, many countries hosted these Olympic games. Even our neighboring China also conducted these Olympics with great success at the last time. But a very big country like India till now notable to host this Olympic games. What is the reason for this? Do you think India has no capability of hosting these games? or do you think the corruption practices in India will not allow India to host these games? If once we host these games, the infrastructure for various games will be improved which helps many sport persons to get trained with these facilities in vast number of sports. This will help to improve the standards of sport person in various games. Are you personally in favor or against in hosting Olympic games in India?

sir, even though this is a dream of every aspiring sportsperson in India to be a host of Olympics, I think we still are around 25 years behind at least. It is just too early as we can't even match the many other countries of similar economies even in the participating contingents. India is a highly under developed country in the field of so many other sports that the Olympics simply doesn't make any sense if its hosted in India. Like am not trying to say that we are not able to host but it doesn't justify the allocation. I think the infrastructure needs a huge development before we can even think of bidding for the Olympics. Also, sir, we don't have the will power from the people in charge of running the sports in the country to move towards hosting Olympics at some time in the future.
Hence even though one can argue that we can very host the Olympics, we simply don't have enough on the ground to meet the mountainous requirements of an Olympics.

The question first should be will India ever win the bid to host the Olympics! I will strongly be in favour of India hosting the Olympics because not only would it put us on the international map in a big way. It will help in many other ways too.
There will a natural boost to the tourism industry. This in turn will bring in revenue in the shape of foreign exchange which will in turn improve our economy.
The other aspects are the infrastructure will improve. Here i do not talk of the sports facilities alone but all the cities where the Olympic events will take place. They will get a face lift just the way Delhi got during the Asiad and Common Wealth Games.
There would perhaps be more business opportunities for people as those visiting the country may want to invest here as well.
We can also show the world what we are capable of and improve our image in the global scenario.
A love affair with knowledge will never end in heartbreak!

I think every Indian would feel proud if we held the Olympic game in our nation. But the main question is can it possible? After so many years and struggle we got the opportunity to hold the commonwealth game in Delhi. Regardless of the surrounded controversy we were able to hold this responsibility very nicely. But Olympic game is different it's a mother of all games and winning the bid to hold the Olympic in India is not going to easy.
You can say now we make our presence felt in the Olympic game after winning 6 medals. Otherwise there are many nations who even do not know about India when it comes to sports. So, until and unless we make our presence strongly felt in the Olympic Games we cannot even think of holding it.
For that we have to progress well in other sports, we have to provide world class facility to our sports persons. We have to improve our overall infrastructure.

Sir its like a dream for Indians to host the Olympics because their are too many countries in the race of hosting the Olympic games.
But it will be definitely the proudest moment for every Indian and the whole world will also see how India hosts the guest of the countries because Indians are very good hosts.

Hello Sir,
I would say that this would be a major boon if the major sports event is conducted in our nation. I would say that this would bring more income to our nation also I would always like to have the Olympics conducted at our nation and if this is conducted here there would be more participants in the Olympic events representing India and this would make us to win more medals. But unfortunately we are one of the weaker nations that has very less infrastructural facilities to conduct Olympics in our nation and that is the sole reason why Olympics are not conducted are chosen to be conducted here.

Hello everyone,
The basic need of any sports is that there must be proper infrastructure which can aid to the sportsmen's and spectators. So as long as India builds a proper and well equipped infrastructure then there is a possibility to get a chance for Olympics Games to be held in our country. Right now I don't think that India is capable to host the Olympics Games. Today we have a large number of stadiums of Cricket only and we need to improve a lot to sport each and every game. I guess the Olympics Association also looks towards the basic amenities that are well equipped and then only they think of selecting any country to host the Olympics Games.
Hence, India is capable of hosting the Olympics Games and I believe that after the year 2020 we might be in the list so as to host the Olympics Games in India. Today we just need to improve the facilities and infrastructure for each and every game.

Am joining to conduct Olympics games in India. We have capability of conducting such a big event. But corruption will make a major role here.One of the recent example for this is that 2010 Commonwealth games which is conducted in India. In one point it seems like Common wealth games will move to some other country because India was not ready for the Commonwealth games. On last minute Prime minister and Army needs to take care of the arrangements for game. Coming back to Olympics, If India really wants to have Olympics here then we need to prepare well. We saw that on previous times, other countries make good arrangements for Olympics and they conducted very well. So we need to prepare more than that. If Olympics is coming to India, it will really good for Tourism also.

When preparing for Olympics, the concerned country need to have a good amount of money for conducting the events and proper facilities should be given for the participants. India is a big country and we are not able to conduct such a big event. Earlier in Delhi, we have conducted the common wealth games and we heard a number of controversies which lead to black money in setting up the venue. Suresh Kalmadi has been punished for this act. The representaives of other countries will not allow India to conduct olympics because we are not able to give good facilities. Next emerging olympics are in Brazil in 2016 and thereafter at Qatar in 2020. The representaives in Qatar has started preparations for the 2020 olympics at early stage, so that they can complete it in time.

I am totally against it as it will not be taken in good spirit in India. We have seen the example of common wealth games which gives good opportunity to all leaders to make good money out of even toilet papers. So in such high level games these political leaders can fall upto any level to make money.
Nothing has happened to people who had gone in Jail because of common wealth games scam. Kalmadi is enjoying London Olympic games at London itself. What a shame!

Considering the current poor Government, bunch of corrupt politicians in India, misuse of public money, I am not in a favour of hosting Olympic Games. We can still feel the heat of commonwealth scam which is known for misuse of public money.

I am in favor of organizing Olympic games in India because it will give many benefits for our country. As in our country sports is always remains behind the study and other sections. We always give very much importance to study only and most of the Indians think that they can achieve more than a 10 to 5 secure job.If we organize the Olympic games then we will get following benefits from it:
1. We will know all the types of sports, as many sports are unknown here and we always take part only in some events at Olympics.
2. Our people will know that there other sports that give their child name and fame and they may support their children in sports other than Cricket also.
3. Tourism industry will get benefited.
4. Our players will get confidence of playing on their home ground and they may win more medals. This may help in next Olympics games also due to their increased confidence.
So there are many benefits of organizing Olympics games in India. Indian government should take this issue on priority and try hard for this event to be held in India.

Be it me or anyone else, it is a matter of national pride. So, we would love it to see that our country organises Olympics. But what Juana Madam stated is also an important question. The rule is the olympic authorities do have a auction for holding future Olympics and many nation take part in it. Suppose India takes part in it, then how much chances are there for India to get the green signal is matter of dreaming and realising.

I am strongly against holding the Olympics in our country till we have a level of sports that we don't feel ashamed at our results. If we were host country and the current medal tally was the performance then I think it will be a big let down.
Further, I am still didn't able to forget the nightmare that was called Commonwealth games. Its still in my mind Mr. Kalmadi, Ms. Dixit, our central government, media, court, sports authorities and sports persons, snakes, malaria, dengue, poor condition of rooms. I remember that Army engineer has to come out to built a temporary bridge to save us from shameful position. I think we need to clean ourselves a little bit more before we should be get over excited and bring this burden called Olympics. Its no and never for me till I am confirmed for the too good Indian administration and sports level.
