After hearing rumours about the violence in Assam, many of the northeast people feared that there will be attackd against them and most of the people who migrated from North east flee from big cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Pune. The community conflicts started in July and now it has spread. About 3000 labourers quit their jobs and they boarded traind on Wednesday night. Only 300 people could board the first heavy crowded train and rest of the people waited for the next train. The Karnataka Chief Minister has given assurance for security, but they flee from the city by hearing the rumours. Intelligence agencies should track down the people who have spread rumours of attackd. What do you think about this incident? Share your views.

When government can not assure peace in any state of India then how can they assure people who are leaving the state. In simple word now people have no trust on this government and common people have to take their own steps for their security.

This is very bad news for all of us. North east is a strong arm of our nation India and such type of rumors not good for unity. All we have to support and assure security to our brother and sister. I am sure all ISC member will with North east people.

It is very sad news; who ever have done this is not right. And a state minister should take strong action towards this incident. One small rumor can kill many lives; we have to very careful about it. We are always proud of our unity but sometime it seems our selfishness thinking overtake everything. This is the fact that no one wants war or fight; everyone wants peace then from where these people are coming to unstable our unity? Who are they and what they want?

This is really a very sad news. And this is also a mirror to the reality of our society. We all calls us to be part of most secular country. But one sms can cause this much on name of religion. How much fear we do have inside us. How much insecurity in those hearts who left their job for saving their life. How much they got scared out due to some nonsecular comment in an sms.
This is bad luck of our country. Secularism is now just a word used by politicians. None of us believe in secularism of country otherwise this would not had happened.
This is reall a big question mark right on the face of our country!!

I think we should all voice our concern towards both the problems one that is started in Assam and one that is happening in the cities like Pune, Bangalore and Chennai. Indian citizen should be protected in every part of the country and even around the world so that they have the faith in their country. But our leaders are so much busy with their political desires and fight that the people are not secured in their own country on the name of regions.

@Ajai one thing I would like to advise you that although I am not a student of journalism but I think one must not mention the religions or caste involved in a feud in any incident.

Yes this is a really sad situation. Exodus hits the economy directly and this is a result of the arson and rioting in the city of Mumbai. It all has started with a rumor being spread through the social network websites which showed a picture of budhist preists moving through a rubbled place. The rumor spreaders interpreted it as murder of Muslims and the vicicious circle started. It really has gripped the nation in fear by scaring the north east people out of their senses so much that they have begun to start an exodus by catching trains to their native places which really is a bad thing for the country. Hopefully, as the government claims that they are tracking the rumor spreaders and riot encouragers, this issue will soon be settled and peace will prevail over this senseless violence being spread.

Really unfortunate that a particular section of people are now fearing for their own lives and this situation should never have been allowed to get this worse.

Sir, why not include simply "Community Conflicts" instead of Caste/Religion name? Including such names in such a critical situation is itself a rumour creator. So, I would like to request forum editors to replace those words.

I just cannot understand as to why this rumor has been spread and by whom. So vested interest are bent upon creating the problem in the country by ripping this kind of hatred among the regions. The Hyderabad Police has been assuring the Assam citizens not to live the city with panic and they will have no problem here. But the people are fearing for life and leaving the cities towards their home town.
