Virat Kohil is playing very well in the current position but still i think that he should stay in middle order and not to replace Sehwag. If he will replace Sehwag then there are possibilities that he might lost that stability factor which he founds in middle order.

Well Sehwag is a good player indeed.Because he has a good potential and experience too to play under different circumstances.

so i think that Virat must stay in middle order so that he can can save the country at crucial conditions.Sehwag is a player who knows to hit the ball only which makes an acceleration run rate at starting and provides other batsmen to play comfortably..
thankyou..

Nishant

Virat is performing exceptionally well this year. He is at his best form up till now. But I don't think he should replace Sehwag. As Sehwag as an opener is the best option we have. We should not try any experiment with his position. Even Virat is playing well in the middle order then why should disturb him by putting unnecessary pressure on him.

Kohli should be definitely open but not at the expense of Sehwag. Gambhir can step down, Lately his form is disappointing. If he gets in after a couple of over from the start then the danger of new ball being his trap will negotiated and he can also take on the spin bowlers from there. I think Indian team management should really consider this option.

Thanking you,

Well, Virat Kohli has maintained the consistency factor but replacing him with opening slot does not seem appropriate. It looks good and legitimate when Sehwag opens. Kohli seems to be fitting the no.3 position. So, no such changes.

I think Ajinkya Rahane is better than Virat Kohli to replace Sehwag for opening position. He was consistent in last IPL -20.

Virat Kohli is a top class player batting at no.3 for India in T20s and ODIs. He often has to come out to bat in the opening few overs after a quick wicket has fallen. So, opening the batting is not new to him and his first successful ODI series was as an opener. But, he is a top performer irrespective of the position he bats and Sehwag's style is more suited for the powerplay overs. Hence, Sehwag should always play as an opener. He can take the game away from the opposition in the first 6 overs of a T20 game. Recently, Sehwag hasn't made big scores in Tests or ODIs, but he has often scored quick 30 runs or 40 runs giving India a blistering start. So, his current form is ideal for India in T20 matches.

Hello Friends,
I dont think that this is a good Idea. Virat is doing exceptionally well in this place and if we is moved up the order he may loose his stability. Though he has got some good starts for India it would not be good to open up the innings when he is having a skill to do well in the middle order. The openers should always go for the big hits to pressurize the situation for opposition and I think there is no one who can replace Sehwag as far as hitting is concerned. Virat should be in this place so that he can build an inning rather to go for big hits and fall down soon.

Kohli is batting very well in all the positions in all forms of cricket. In fact he started as an opening batsman in the under19 team. He also batted very well in that time which made him took this place. Now he is one of the best player in the world. He is consistent and scoring very good. The strike rate is also. He plays depending on the situation. He ranked second in the cricket rankings. He can play in any positions. His shot selections are good and clean hitting the ball are his special thing. He can play in the opening position. But Sehwag is fit for opening, he fires in the beginning. Kohli is more important in the back. So his one down is good than the opening.

In my opinion when a player perform well, provide more and more opportunity that player so that he can perform more well for the team and country. Now in present days Virat performing very well and Sehwag or other member of team not perform well. So there is need of replacement of Virat with the Sehwag.

Hello Saurabhi,
Nice to post a response to your thread in ISC.
In my view, Virat Kohli is a good cricketer. In the last T20 match against NewZealand he played well. The talent, technique, commitment of Virat Kohli towards cricket is fantastic. I think, India can use him as a optional opener for T20 cricket instead of Virender Sehwag. Because, Sehwag able to manage the scoreboard with a rocket speed. Sehwag's attaching game gives a good result in international cricket. By nature he is a dashing cricketer. Kohli is best for either middle order or for one down batsman. I wish all the best to team India for the upcoming T20 Cricket world championship.

no.virat is good at his place and india can not get a better T-20 opener than sehwag.though he misses out sometimes,we should never forget his contribution to team india in every form of cricket.virat is perfect in middle order to continue the innings if the top order dismisses soon.

Hi Friends,
I think Virat Kohli should open the innings with Gambhir as both play in the gaps and both doesn't lose their wickets easily. As the first six overs are powerplay oversand the field is inside the 30- yard circle, they both can peirce the feild with timing and score runs without losing wickets initially. Then, after powerplay, hard hitters like Sehwag, Raina, Yuvraj and MSD can come and hit huge shots.

no
both are different types of crickter both of them have different and unique type of playing
in case of opening sehwag is the best
no doubt virat is great batsman
and nowdays he is in a great form
and wish he will countinue that forever
he had also lead india many times to victory
but as we talk about sehwag
he is the best on field with any type of shot
no matter who is the bowler
he had made some hard to reach record
he is simply the best
in my opinion he should open

hii friends,
virat kohli is the emerging star in indian cricket over 3-4 years. The thing which ilike about him is thaat he is a great learner and is mentally very strong & he is well focused on his game.I think that he should stay in the middle order & play his game and on the other hand virender sehwag is a game changer when he gets going then its very difficult to stop him so,i think virender sehwag should open and play his attacking natural game & virat kohli should stay in middle order to strengthen the middle order if the opener had a collapse
Thank you
