The punishments in schools is really needed, otherwise the students tend to divert from their studies and indulge in other activities, but there is no need to have a punishment in college because they are matured people and they need only some supervision and can be good citizens. We have seen that the situation is really diverged. In schools they are most obedient and when they enter into colleges they change their nature and behaviour.

Punishment is needed in schools but upto certain limits, it should never harm student's physically or mentaly. There have been many severe cases of punishment in which student's sufferd a permanent damage. I, myself, teach in coaching classes, and always find funnier but effective way to punish student's.

@Stephen: Edit the title of the thread. The same title has been used in one of the previous threads created by Ramprasad. Here is the link of the thread original thread. Though the content inside differs, but since you put the same title, it will considered to be copied. Editors have requested you before also to put different titles in the thread. Punishment can be hard and soft. Hard punishment can have negative impact on student's behavior. Therefore, hard punishments should be avoided. But, soft punishment can be used for maintaining the discipline among the students. But, punishment should not be used regularly. Teachers must adapt some other techniques to improve the performance of the students. They should try to increase the interaction with the students to understand their problem and help them to overcome it. And even after all the efforts, if the performance and behavior does not improve, then teachers can give light punishments to the students.

Madhvee

Hello Friend,
In my opinion The Punishment to The Students in Schools or Colleges is bad thing. By doing this teachers can not improve the students and the punishment may cause the student behavior may change and he may also not improve anything. I thing love is the only thing which can compel you do anything but by punishing any one you thing you can force him to do any thing is wrong way.

The students are supposed to behave with good ethics and great attitude and they must listen to the advise and suggestions of the teachers and class leaders. If some adamant student wont listen, then a mild warning to him is necessary. Still if he persists to evade the advise, then give a noting in the dairy and ask the parents to have a meeting with the concerned teacher. Still the boy refuses to bring the parent, then the Principal may take some action for giving some harsh punishment to the student. I think good student wont go this far.
