Some fun and some learning.

Learning in schools and institutions of higher learning should be a combination of some fun and some learning. In a class the lesson should be handled in such a way that the students and the teacher enjoy. The teacher must always try to crack some funny jokes related to whatever is being taught. It does not help very much when the teacher teaches when they are so serious that you would think that instead of a class he or she is attending a burial ceremony. This way a seemingly hard subject like physics can be made a bit more interesting. An example of interesting interjections into the lesson is strange examples to explain some hitherto boring parts of the subject.

A cartoon diagram explaining to form- one students what force of gravity is could be a good example of interesting lessons. You could draw a cartoon diagram where a boy comes across a set-up whereby there is a pulley fixed at the top of a tree branch. A rope is fixed to the pulley with one of its end fixed to the ground with the aid of a peg. The other end of the rope has a bucket full of stones tied on it and suspended from the ground. The boy decides to undo the set-up before anyone got hurt. On pulling off the peg the bucket full of stones being heavier than the boy started fast downward motion lifting the boy. The two meet briefly in the middle giving the boy a quick sharp knock before the bucket crashes to the ground pouring out its contents. Now the boy being much heavier than the now empty bucket starts a very fast downward motion briefly meeting with the bucket in the middle again receiving a quick sharp knock. On crashing to the ground the poor boy releases the rope making the empty bucket come crashing onto his head. At the end of this encounter we have a neat pile on the ground of the stones, boy, bucket and rope. This would surely be a good story of gravity to tell the young students.

In between classes there must be sports breaks where the students go to the field of play to refresh themselves with their favourite sports. Going back to class the teacher will find very active students waiting for the lesson to start. During the lesson the students will participate by asking questions and not doze as is normal to inactive and bored students.

In an English or other languages lesson, a debating session makes the lesson very interesting. You will find that even the normally inactive students suddenly being very cooperative to the teacher. Always try to introduce surprises during lessons for the students to be always alert.
