We are introducing some badges in ISC. Badges will be temporary appreciation badges in the member profile, awarded to show our appreciation for certain good work (or, bad work) from members. Most badges are appreciation but some could be in the form of warnings like "Spammer", "Trouble maker" and so on.
Each badge will have a LIFESPAN. Warning badges will stay only for few days but some appreciation badges like 'Good Helper' will stay for several weeks.
Only editors can award badges to members.
Please suggest some badge names so that we can add it to our list.

| #355605 Author: Sudhan Member Level: Diamond Member Rank: 129 Date: 23/Sep/2012 Rating: Points: 4 | Hello Sir, It is definitely good to bring such changes that can definitely motivate a person in the site. Though I think that the badges for warnings should not be provided to a new member of the site, but for the one who is repeatedly doing the mistake and is above the silver level. Here are my suggestions Best Entry of the week(for the best article) Best Entrant or debutant(for new comers) Best Forum Motivator Best member for each section like silver, gold, diamond and platinum Experts of the expert(Experts doing well in Ask expert section)

| #355673 Author: Vandana Member Level: Diamond Member Rank: 11 Date: 24/Sep/2012 Rating: Points: 5 | Tony Sir, I would like to make a few suggestions: 1. Certain badges should be permanent & not for a limited number of days or weeks, such as Best Mentor or Lifetime Achiever.
2. Just as editors have the editor tag in the Forum, there should be an Editorial Badge at each of their profile pages for the duration that they are on the editorial panel.
3. It would be great if you started issuing physical certificates to members for these main awards: Member of the Week, Member of the Month and for the end-of-year annual awards. These certificates could be sent to the member's address. I feel such certificates will help a member seeking a scholarship, a trainee assignment, a job, etc. If I recall correctly, you did say that such certificates would be considered once a permanent office was set up in India. So could you please initiate it?

| #355821 Author: Ajay Kumar Singh Member Level: Gold Member Rank: 110 Date: 24/Sep/2012 Rating: Points: 5 | Sir, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to suggest some badges name which may prove important for ISC. I appreciate the good suggestions of other valuable members of the site and could not help myself from coming up with my own suggestion. According to me, most of the badges should be categorized into junior, senior and expert in the respective categories for the simplicity of the matter. Examples are as given below:
For the Resource Section: Junior Resource Wiz (or Wizard) Senior Resource Wiz Expert Resource Wiz
Similarly for the Forum Section: Junior Forum Wiz Senior Forum Wiz Expert Forum Wiz
For the Ask Expert Section: Junior Ask Expert Wiz Senior Ask Expert Wiz Expert Ask Expert Wiz
For the Creative Writing Section: Junior Creative Wiz Senior Creative Wiz Expert Creative Wiz
Besides, certain symbols could also be used along with the respective badges (if possible).
Regards, Ajay Kumar Singh

Is it Resource, Ask Exert and Forum section is all about ISC?

| #356284 Author: akash Member Level: Bronze Member Rank: 4907 Date: 26/Sep/2012 Rating: Points: 5 | Sir, first of all i must say that its a good idea to give the member their badges for their varieties of work which they do ! MY FIRST OPINION IS THAT BADGES SHOULD NOT BE MORE IN NUMBERS . IT SHOULD BE LIKE FIFTY OR SO. In my opinion, these badges should be categorised first. The major categories should be MEMBERSHIP LEVEL BASED and NON-MEMBERSHIP LEVEL BASED. With 'MEMBERSHIP LEVEL', i refer here to BRONZE, SILVER and so on. ***MEMBERSHIP LEVEL BASED*** : * BRONZE MEMBER - Talented fresher ( one who maintains quantity ) - Hardworking fresher ( one who maintains quality ) - Confusing fresher ( understood by the name itself ) - 'You got it' fresher ( one who maintains quality and quantity both ) *SILVER MEMBER - Talented experienced fresher - Hardworking experienced fresher - 'You got it' experienced fresher *GOLD MEMBER - Good ( maintains his/her time on this site nicely i.e active member ) - Nice ( maintains time as well as post nice ) * DIAMOND AND PLATINUM MEMBER - Keep it up ! ( both should have this badge only ) ***NON-MEMBERSHIP LEVEL BASED*** * Experts king * Resource king * Exams king * article king . .NOTE : THESE ALL BADGES ARE TEMPORARY AS ' CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT '
| #356756 Author: Sun Member Level: Diamond Member Rank: 18 Date: 27/Sep/2012 Rating: Points: 2 | Members,
I think ISC has already decided the badges to be awarded to our members, It is evident from the award of HELPER badge to our dear Madam vandana on 25th September 2012.
Can our dear Web Master Mr. Tony John open up the bag and bring out all the good cats called badges for us, to see and feel proud, and anticipate and try for such good badges, from now onwards.

| #358546 Author: Sabrez Alam Member Level: Gold Member Rank: 711 Date: 03/Oct/2012 Rating: Points: 2 | Having a badge...I think, One of the best ideas in ISC. This will encourage members to contribute good contents with good consistency in ISC. All the members have suggested very good badges and this is the time when Tony sir is going to confuse that what badges should have to choose? There should some permanent badges as well as some temporary badges for the warning.

| #358642 Author: Ankur Garg Member Level: Diamond Member Rank: 41 Date: 03/Oct/2012 Rating: Points: 4 | Yes this is a wonderful idea to award a badge to a valuable member. This kind of recognisation from admin will definitely boost the morale of contributing member and give him/her the inspiration to contribute more with ISC in future. I am amazed to see the wonderful badges suggested by the members.
If I am not wrong Editors Vandana, Ankit Sinha and Akansha have been awarded with these badges and I think this is a very good choices made by the webmaster. I am very sure this kind of badge system will make a very positive environment in ISC and put ISC into the next level of excellence.

| #360093 Author: Manoj Chaurasia Member Level: Gold Member Rank: 265 Date: 08/Oct/2012 Rating: Points: 5 | A very novel concept to come up with. I believe that this site is for those who are really wish to contribute and they only are here to stay. Those who just come here to make few bucks end up losing interest in a few months time. Therefore according to the level of depth of mind which is usually measured in frequency Hertz(Hz), i would like to suggest following badges:
1. Gamma(30-70 Hz) 2. Beta(13-30 Hz) 3. Alpha(7-13 Hz) 4. Theta(4-7 hz) 5. Delta(1-4 Hz) 6. Out of wits - As a warning message.
Now i think most of the members must be knowing that lower the frequency higher the depth of mind and its maturity.
Now as per the above frequency badges can be assigned. Now since ISC has a lot of sections and hence for each section such badges can be used as per the level of contribution to that particular section.
Regards Manoj Chaurasia

| #360329 Author: Sun Member Level: Diamond Member Rank: 18 Date: 09/Oct/2012 Rating: Points: 1 | Manoj, A very very complicated frequency allocation to mismatch the badge allocation. Who will select the frequency and how to select the Gamma/Beta/Alpha/Theta/Delta rays. Can we measure the depth of someone's mind and their maturity. It is next to impossible. Your suggestion can be kept aside just to have an X-ray look. ISC has already implemented the system, and they have awarded three badges like "HELPER", "GUIDE" and "CREATIVE".
Your good sun rays have reached ISC after a great delay.

| #363075 Author: K Mohan Member Level: Platinum Member Rank: 4 Date: 19/Oct/2012 Rating: Points: 2 | Why ISC is delaying in awarding badges. If it has decided to award , then it must take action. So many suggestions have poured in and better action be taken now to pin badges.
