Short Description:
Brodipet is one of the busiest areas and is the Heart of Guntur City. It is a residential area as was the shopping area. However the place is always peaceful.
Description:
Brodipet is one of the busiest areas in Guntur City. The divider that Comes after the railway over bridge divides Brodipet and Arundalpet. To the left of the divider is the Brodipet.
The Busiest line in Brodipet is the 4th Lane. There are several shopping malls and general shops all along this line. But in other lines, there are shops until 2nd Cross road only. The remaining is all residential area with schools and temples at some places.
Culture:
Brodipet got its name from the Person Brodie who donated the place to brahmins to reside. So, the area is particular brahmins area. The are many temples in this place like Omkara Kshetram at 2/13 , Sivalayam at 2/7, Saibaba Temple at 4/7, Raghavendra Swamy temple at 6/19, Ayappa Swamy temple at 3/16. There is also a mosque at 4/7 in which musilims do Namaj everyday. The St.Mathews North Parish Church is at Ambedkar Center in Brodipet in which Christians conduct prayers in large groups every sunday. It is also one of the most prominent Churches in the City. When you go through the streets of brodipet, you will find their culture, each house has Rangavalli infront it which reflects their culture.
Eat:
The most prominent place is Sankar Vilas Hotel.
Sankar Vilas is also like a Landmark in Guntur City. People who ever visits city for any work will have their lunch/dinner here only. They have a reasonable price for food. However, the taste of the hotel is same since several years. They have been running this from almost 30 years. Anand Bhavan is another hotel in Brodipet which is visited by several people which provides the tastiest food next to Sankar Vilas. Next comes hotels like Surya Mahabodhi beside Reliance Fresh, Hotel Ravi Shankar etc for tastiest food. However, there are also costly hotels like Hotel Sindoori, Hotel Vajrams, Hotel Grand Nagarjuna which are 3 star hotels. They serve both Veg and Non - Veg and have Bars also. Grand Nagarjuna is the top most hotel in Guntur City. It is the only hotel with Dance Floor in Guntur. There are also many other roadside vendors in this area who serve good food.
Shop:
The Fourth line of Brodipet is the busiest shopping areas of Guntur City. It has branded shopping malls like Spencers, Reliance Fresh, Khazana Jewellery, Big C, Univercell, The Mobile Store, The Classic Polo Showroom, Vodafone Store, Magna Food World, Hero Honda Showroom etc. It also had large number of Jewellary Shops in 4th Line. It also has a variety of Cloth Showrooms which caters the needs of the youth as well as others.
Education:
As Guntur city is the Education Capital of Andhra Pradesh, Brodipet also has large number of educational institutions in it.
Master Minds caters the need of CA aspiring students. It is one of the best colleges in Andhra Pradesh for CA Courses. Students of this college secure All India Ranks every year.
Christian Missinonary Colleges like Andhra Lutheren College is also present here. It provides several UG and PG courses.
Very prominent school Sarada Nikethan is present in the 2nd line. It is funded by Sarada Peetham. Schools like The Central Public School, Gemini Public School, Krushi Public School, Panduranga Vidyalayam, Sri Krishnaveni Talent School, Sri Venkateswara Balakuteer, Balananda Kendram, LEM School etc are present.
Several coaching centers for Dance like Aruns Westeren Dance Attack, for singing and musical instruments like Prem Kumar's Coaching Center at 2/10 Brodipet are present.
Many Coaching centers for MBA like TIME, IMS and for GRE, TOEFL like Visu are present at 4/14. There are software training centres like PRS, APTECH etc. Tutions for Degree, College, School students are available at 6th line of Brodipet.
