River Rushikulya passes through the Tara Tarini Hills at Ganjam

Tara Tarini temple is situated at Tara Tarini hills on the bank of River Rushikulya near Purushottampur town at Ganjam district of Odisha. The temple was build in Satya Yuga as per the history and later it was discovered by Kalinga Emperors in Ancient Period, then Basupraharaj in Medieval period in 17th century. It is one of the fifty one Shakti Peethas and four Tantra Peethas (Vimala of Puri, Kamakhya at Assam, Dakshina Kali of Kolkata) in India. Devi Parvati’s breast part falls here during the Tandava Nrutya by Lord Shiva carrying Parvati Devi.
