Golconda (Golkonda) Fort of Hyderabad, Telangana

Originally Golkonda (Golconda) fort was built in the year 1143 by King of Warangal and it was named as ‘Mankal’. It was prepared with mud. During Kakatiya Dynasty, a shepherd boy came here and found some idol which was informed to the king. Later it was named as Shepherd’s hill or Golla Konda (in Telugu). A holy place was built in this place, but later it obsessed by Bahamani rulers and then Qutb Sahi dynasty and later Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. There are has many historical signatures in it.
