The city of Ganganagar is named after the Maharaja of Bikaner `Maharaja Ganga ingh`who established it.
Importance-
Ganganagar district has highest number of contonments in India. They are Lalgarh,Suratgarh and Sadhuwali.
Climate-
The Climate of this district is of extreme type. It is the hottest region of the country.Its temperature during summer crosses 50 degree celcius. And in winter it goes bbelow 0 degree celcius.
Agriculture-
The main crops of the district are wheat,cotton and mustard.
Famous People from this District-
Famous Gazal singer Jagjit Singh is from the city Ganganagar.Famous comedian and the runner up of `The Great Indian Laughter Challenge`,Khyali Saharan is also from this district.
Places to see-
This district is mainly an agricultural area of the state Rajasthan.And their are many farms and fields.There are many notable temples and Gurudwaras in the city Ganganagar like The Durga Mandir,Hanuman Temple,Balajee Dham.The Indo-Pak border at Hindumal kot is a place to see and is the main attraction of the district.The Gurudwara Shri Budha Johad is 50 Km from the city Ganganagar.
