=Nagaur District is situated among seven other districts of rajasthan namely Bikaner, Churu, jmer, Pali Sikar, Jaipur and Jodhpur. Nagaur is the fifth largest district in Rajasthan and has a vast area of over 17,718 sq kms..The area is a good combination of plain, hills, sand mounds and also a part of the great Indian Thar Desert.
Nagaur city was the center of muslim invasion of Central asia and a fort named Hagaur Fort is still there. The Nagaur Forst is a place of historical importance and there are many tourists and travelers who visit the place every year.
The town of Ladnu in the district has become very famous in the recent years as the seat of the Jain Viswa Bharati and has become a centre of spiritual learnings and knowledge under the great leadership of a great jain saint, Acharya Tulsi.
Nagaur Fair or the Cattle Fair of Rajasthan is held in the month of January-February every year at Nagaur town in Rajasthan. The Fair, which goes on for eight days, is the second largest cattle fair of India, next only to Pushkar Cattle fair where the trading goes on for about 70,000 bullocks, camels and horses every year.
Thousands of animals, which are magnificently garlanded with lots of accessories, to provide a decorated and beautiful look to them, are gathered at the fair for trading. The owners also get dressed in their colourful turban and with their long moustaches, come to the fair to buy and sell cows, bullocks, oxen, horses and camels. There is also a huge animal exhibition, the fair is also popular for its Mirchi Bazaar (red chilly market), which is the biggest in India. You can also find traders for wooden items, iron-crafts and camel leather accessories and many other things.
How to Reach Nagaur , Rajasthan
By air you have to reach either Jaipur (293-km), Jodhpur (135-km) or Udaipur (400-km), all of which have domestic airports. You can get flights to these airports from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad international airports.
Rail :
Nagaur Railway station is well connected to all the cities and towns in Rajasthan. There is a Pink city express which travels from Delhi to Jaipur stops at Nagaur also. Other important rail connections are: Ranakpur Express (Bikaner-Nagaur-Ratangarh); 4893 Mail (Marwar-Nagaur-Merta Road Junction).

Rajasthan State Roadways coaches connect almost all tourist places and business centresof Rajasthan.Chauffer-driven air-conditioned can be hired through the State Tourist Offices and other approved private operators.
