Job Description
For the Skill Set of Web Development, this role has technical management of a team. Encourages groups to work together and takes responsibility for team building to optimize performance by working with other Team Leaders, planning and managing resources to provide correct levels of cover. Sets challenging but achievable team targets to match business metrics, performance standards and SLAs and manages Individual and Team Performance. Application Developer - J2EE. Required to design, develop and support application solutions to meet customer requirements.
1. Develop technical specifications
2. Develop (or refine) unit test cases
3. Perform application unit testing activities 4. Translate business - I/T requirements
5. Interpret data models
6. Use application development methodology and tools
7. Use application strategies for maintenance 8. Use full life cycle system development processes
9. Use programming languages
0. Use software configuration management (SCM) tools
11. Perform root cause analysis in defect resolution and while debugging
12. Review high level design to ensure the application is buildable
13.Leads and guides developers in day to day activities
14. Specifies developer environment and coordinates setup
15. Provides overall technical planning and coordination
16. Monitors compliance with technical and software engineering process and standards
17. Leads design decomposition into program specifications
18. Identifies reuse opportunities and designs for reuse as appropriate
19. Leads quality assurance reviews, code inspections, and walkthroughs of the developers' code
20. Validates test results
21. Participates in development of the system test plan
22. Provides technical leadership in system integration testing and participates in user acceptance testing
23. Leads knowledge transfer with the software maintenance organization
24. Coordinates the development of system documentation
25. Participates in risk assessments and metrics workshops
26. Coordinates deployment and promotion of code
27. Assigns development tasks and defect resolution tasks to Developer staff
28. Acts as technical interface to development team for external groups
29. Conducts technical interviews for team members and conducts orientation of new staff 30. Provides technical estimates as required 31. Validates change requests and defect reports
32. Continuously improves application design and performance where possible
33. Provides timely, accurate performance feedback to development team members
34. Provides vision for, and leads implementation of prototype initiatives
