Job Description
Role:
Control audio equipment to regulate volume level and sound quality during television broadcasts.
Mix and edit voices, music, and tapped sound effects for live and/or pre-recorded shows using sound mixing boards.
Test and operate equipment in accordance with the acoustics of the area.
Monitoring audio signals to detect quality deviations or malfunctions.
Adding sound effects and introducing pre-recorded special effects.
To view different types of images from a variety of sources, for example several cameras, digital video effects, graphics and outside broadcast materials.
Under instructions from the director, selecting the required images and combining them, ensuring a smooth transition between shots- it involves cutting, mixing and wiping.
To control which camera goes on air.
Key Deliverables:
Handling Audio and Vision mixing in the PCR.
Responsible for operating technical equipment to amplify, enhance, record, mix, or reproduce sound for television programmes and/or live shows. Responsible for controlling the pictures that the viewer sees on their television screen by controlling the vision mixing desk.
