Post Graduate in Marine Biology from Cochin University of Science & technology

Research Experience
1.Presently working as Research Assistant in Network for Fish Quality Management and Sustainable Fishing (NETFISH) under The Marine Products Export Development Authority, India. As part of the present post conducting fishery conservation awareness programmes all over India.

2.Two year experience as Research Fellow at Cochin University of Science & Technology In the Ministry of Earth Sciences sponsored research project entitled “Resource assessment and biology of deep sea fishes along the continental slope of Indian EEZ” from March 2006. Identified 10 new records of deep-sea fishes from Indian continental slope.

3.One year of research experience in a project entitled “Environmental impact assessment and environmental monitoring” at Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute (CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, Gujarat,India

4.Participated in four exploratory fishing cruises onboard FORV Sagar Sampada, Dept of Ocean Development (Govt. of India) along the continental slope of southwest and Northeast coast of Indian EEZ.

5.Extensive experience in seawater sampling and analysis such as experience in the analysis of parameters like Dissolved oxygen, Biological oxygen demand, Chemical oxygen demand, Hardness of water, Total suspended solids, Total dissolved solids, Chloride, Salinity, Nitrite, Nitrate, Phosphate, Petroleum hydrocarbons, Phytoplankton Zooplankton, Benthos.

6.Extensive experience in stock assessment, biology, biochemical analysis and molecular taxonomy of deep-sea fishes.

Seminars attended

1.Participated and presented a paper at 8th Asian Fisheries Forum held at Cochin, Kerala, India.

2.Attended one day national level consultation workshop on Environmental Management Reform for Sustainable, Farming, Fisheries and Aquaculture (Aqua Agris) jointly organized by Cochin University of Science & Technology and Aquagris Consortium Research Group (European Commission) at Cochin.

3.Participated the international seminar “Ornamentals 2006” held at Cochin, Kerala, India.

4.Participated in the International seminar “Ornamentals 2008” held at Cochin, Kerala, India.
5.Participated in the national seminar on Impact of Sethusamudram project along Kerala coast, organized by Rajiv Gandhi chair in contemporary studies, Cochin University of Science & Technology.

1.Undergone a 15 days training on DNA finger printing and RAPD analysis at Sangene biotech Pvt Ltd Bangalore.
