a) What is a delay line?
b) What is the use of swamping resistor in PMMC instrument?
c) What are the advantages of using thermocouple instrument?
d) List some of the front panel controls of function generator?
e) Write differences between AC and DC bridges?
f) What is an instrument transformer?
g) Explain about Ammeter loading effect.
h) Define the term secondary emission ratio.
i) Name at least five front panel controls in CRO.
j) Define the term harmonic distortion.
k) Explain the procedure to find unknown frequency using Lissajous figures?
l) What are the precautions to be taken in signal generator applications?

2. a) Classify and explain the types of errors occurring in measurements.
2. b) Define Voltmeter Sensitivity? What is loading effect of a DC Voltmeter with an example? (OR)
3. a) Describe the construction and working of shunt type ohm meter.
3. b) Explain working of electrodynamometer in power measurement.

UNIT - II [1 x 12 = 12M]

4. a) Draw the Maxwell's bridge circuit and derive the expression for the unknown elements at balance.
4. b) Explain the working of Dual Slope DVM. (OR)
5. a) Explain the block diagram of true RMS responding voltmeter.
5. b) Explain the method of AC measurement using rectifier type instruments.

UNIT - III [1 x 12 = 12M]

6. a) Explain the measurement of voltage, frequency and phase using CRO.
6. b) Draw the block diagram of dual trace oscilloscope and explain its working. (OR)
7. a) Draw and explain the working of sampling oscilloscope.
7. b) Explain the operation of 10:1 probe.
