( PAPER - III ) 130. CONSTRUCTION SAFETY May
Time : 3 Hours Maximum : 100 Marks
PART - A (2 × 25 = 50) Answer any THREE questions. All questions carry equal marks.
1. Describe the types of scaffolds and the requirements for ensuring safety in scaffoldings and ladder usage. 2. Discuss in detail safety in paint and solvent handling, paint storage with risk and control measures. 3. Discuss in detail the various safety aspects and precautionary measures to be followed in earth moving equipment and heavy machinery. 4. Explain the safety precautions to be handled in using various drilling, cutting and grinding machines. 5. Explain the significance of maintenance of tools and tackles. Also, discuss lifting and handling of heavy machinery.
PART - B (4 × 10 = 40) Answer any FOUR questions. All questions carry equal marks.
6. Write the safety aspects of working at heights. 7. Explain the safety measures to be followed in rigging. 8. Discuss the tagging and warning signs and their usage. 9. Describe the precautionary measures to be followed in high pressure tools. 10. Explain the need for warning signs. Also, discuss hot works and the risk associated with it. 11. Explain in detail the commonly applied first aid measures in construction activities. 12. Write the mechanical hazards associated with earth moving equipment.
