International Symposium on Applied Phycology and Environmental Biotechnology

OBJECTIVE
The main aim of this symposium is to bring together multidisciplinary researchers around the world in the area of algal biology/biotechnology and to disseminate information on latest technologies in mass cultivation and industrial applications of algae. Symposium will include lectures by eminent scientists and discussions on increasingly multidisciplinary research on algal biotechnology. Paper/poster session will provide an opportunity and platform to young scientists to showcase and deliberate their research activities with senior experts in the field. Selected papers/posters will be published as full-length paper in the proceedings of the symposium.

Call for Abstracts:
Abstracts are invited for oral/poster presentation from delegates and scientists working in the areas of algal biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, bioremediation and bioactive compounds. Paper/Poster session will provide an opportunity and platform to young scientists to showcase and deliberate their research activities with senior experts in the field. Selected abstracts will be published in the proceedings of the symposium. Abstracts must be in English and should include title, authors names, postal addresses and e-mail addresses. Please make your abstract as informative and representative as possible. All text should be in Times New Roman, font 12. The abstract title should be written with capitals in bold. Name(s) and address(es) of author(s) should follow under the title line. For papers with multiple authors, the presenting author should be underlined. Different affiliation of authors should be indicated by numbered superscript. Abstracts should not be longer than 300 words (excluding titles, names etc) in MS Word format. Abstracts should be submitted as an e- mail attachment to: isapeb2007@bits-pilani.ac.in or a print copy and on CD to the convener.
Instructions for Posters
Posters must be prepared strictly as per the guidelines and should not be more than 1 meter wide and 1.5 meter height. Under the title, print in smaller letters the name of the authors, institutions, city and country. The message should be clearly understandable and match with the objective of the programme.
Submission of Full-length paper
Accepted abstracts will be informed in advance to submit a full length paper which should not be longer than 6 standard A4 size pages with one-inch margin on all sides, Times new roman, 12 points, 1.5 line spacing. The sequence of contents should be as: Title of the paper, author’s name, affiliations, abstract, key words, introduction, experimental methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements and references. A hard copy of the full length paper alongwith CD formatted on MS word file with graphs/figures and tables electronically embedded in the text be sent to the convener. We strongly encourage electronic submission of abstract(s)/paper(s).
Best Paper/Poster Award
To encourage students and young scientists in the field of algal biology and biotechnology, the best paper(s)/poster(s) presentation will be selected for the award during the symposium. Students and researchers below the age of 32 years are eligible. Interested candidates should send their age proof duly certified by the Supervisor/Head of the department.
REGISTRATION
To register, delegate fee along with completed registration form should be sent to the convenor. The delegate fee is to be paid by way of demand draft drawn in favour of ‘BITS, Pilani’ payable at UCO Bank, Pilani (Code-0150) or State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, Pilani (Code-10398).
