Admission - 2008: 5 years Integrated Masters Programme (M.S)
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), has set up three Science Institutes. These are at Pune, Kolkata, & Mohali, patterned after the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, in terms of high quality research in basic sciences, but with additional education program in the form of an integrated five year Masters curriculum, following class XII of our school system (or its equivalent). Each IISER is an autonomous degree awarding Institution. The central theme of IISERs is to integrate education with research so that undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as doctoral and post-doctoral research work are carried out in unison.

1. KISHORE VAIGYANIC PROTSAHAN YOJNA ( KVPY ) SB+2 2008, SA -2007 BATCHES (www.iisc.ernet.in/kvpy)

3. IIT JEE – 2008 (those who figure in regular and extended merit lists)
Students wishing to pursue science as a career and having passed (10+2) or its equivalent qualifying examination in 2007 or will be appearing in 2008 may apply in plain paper giving the following information:
Name, address for correspondence, phone no., e-mail address, name and address and telephone no. of the school, attaching class X mark-sheet, parent’s name, name of the qualifying examination (“KVPY-2007/08” or “Olympiad-2008” or “IIT JEE-2008” with roll no./ registration no). The application should be mailed to the following address:

The name of the examination (“KVPY-2007/2008” / “Olympiad-2008”/ “IIT JEE-2008” ) is to be mentioned clearly on the envelope. Last date for receiving applications is June 10, 2008.
Counseling for admission from KVPY SA-2007, SB +2 2008 and Olympiad-2008 will be held on June 14, 2008 (Saturday) at 0930 hrs.
Counseling for admission from IIT JEE- 2008 will be held on July 1, 2008 (Tuesday) at 0930 hrs. at all IISERs.
