Circuit Tracing :-
Circuit board and chips of the PC are enough reliable if you handle them properly and keep them under suggested environmental and power protection i.e. keeps them away from water, high temperature, high voltage etc. Circuit tracing techniques are required for initial installation of your PC as well as during upgrades of existing machines. While putting a new board into your system you have to follow these steps:-
> Installing the board
> Configuring
> Testing
> Loading and configuring the drivers
> Device connection

1. Installing the board: - Installing the board means putting the board in the system. To install or replace in new circuit board you need new screw drivers, documentations for ugh For the motherboard on which you are installing the circuit board, installation CD or disk for the new board and be sure that PC is turned off and unplugged. Now follow these steps to install the board:-
> Set jumpers and switches on new board.
> Install the board in correct slot available on motherboard.
> Reboot the system and let window detect the card and install drivers.
> Test the operation of the board.
> Test all the other devices on your system to ensure that the new card is not causing any problem to them.
2. Configuring Circuit board: - When you install a circuit board some of them may be fully functional while some times most of them do not work. This nonworking is because of the conflicts of the new board with existing boards. In such cases the configuring of new boards is required. The configuring consists of assigning resources to the device and providing software support for the device. Depending on your system, operating system and new board you may have to do one or more of the following:-
> Specify COM port for modem
> Specify LPT port for printer
> Select DMA channels on board
> Select I/O address on the board
> Select IRQ lines on the board
> Select RAM and ROM addresses on the board.
> Load a driver for the board.
Remember while selecting or assigning them be sure that the same are not specified to some other device to avoid the resource conflicts.
Once your circuit board is properly installed and configured you can connect the devices to the selected ports to complete the connections of your system and start its working.
