Punctuality is one of the best manners. The importance of being punctual and tips to improve our punctuality are discussed here.
The proverb
'Time and tide waits for no one'
, has great relevance in the present day world. Life span of human beings has increased. But we have lot of activities in our life that the time we get seems to be less. Time is the most precious resource available.
We sometimes say that time is running very fast. It is a relative phenomenon. We are aware that time is moving at the same pace always. Still we feel that the pace of time has increased. It is only due to our state of mind. We do not find enough time for our needs.
Punctuality is required in all walks of our life, whether in our work or at home. Our work is always related to time. There is rules which are to be kept in our work. At home also, we need to be punctual. To maintain health, we need to take food on time. When we are affected with disease, we have to take medication on time. So punctuality is a part of our life. We need to maintain it through out the life span.
Indians are always blamed for being late. Our reputation is affected by our carelessness to maintain timing. Our systems are mostly late. There are a few people and institutions which are punctual. But the majority fail to maintain punctuality. Indian railway, bus services, development projects are all examples of what importance do we give to time. A bridge planned to be completed by the year 2000, may remain incomplete even if we reach 2020. This is a shameful situation for us. We have to strive to overcome this bad reputation which we have maintained all through these years.
Generally, North Americans, Europeans and Japanese are considered to be punctual. They relate time and money. For them, wastage of time means wastage of money. So they never waste time. Just imagine, we are waiting for some one and the person does not turn up. We might have wasted our precious time for that person. So we Indians need to
improve our manners
. Thus we can earn reputation.
How to improve Punctuality
Always keep a watch with you.
Keep a watch in every room.
Wake up early in the morning.
Make a timetable for routines and stick to it.
Plan your events early. Do not wait for the last moment.
Maintain a diary of events, to observe your improvement.
Observe where you lose time and correct it.

keeping the punctuality in all respects is necessary one.
When we ask our sister/wife to wait in a Busstand by 5.00 pm means we should be there by 4.55 pm to avoid problems of miscreants to them in the bus stand.
For office, school anywhere the punctuality is inevitable.
