Gati campus recruitment process

Gati Logistics is a listed logistic and supply chain company which is India centric in its business. It has a turnover of about 800 cr and is growing rapidly.

The recruitment process was for the post of management trainees in sales and marketing. A total of 40 students had been shortlisted for the process. It had mostly freshers from various symbiosis business schools.

The panel consisted of 3 members, Head HR Mrs Rasia, Pune Territory sales manager and a member from higher management level.

The process included GD, extempore, Case study analysis and PI.

GD topics were of current affair, my topic was " Dubai crisis effect on India", some other topics were " Is Obama a war President?", "Relaunch of Bajaj scooter" etc. GD consisted of 8 members and for a duration of 10 mins.

Shortlist from GD was announced and from each team a total of 2 were shortlisted for extempore.

Extempore topics were like "An exception to the rule", "Do not cry over split milk". We had to speak for about 3 mins and 30 seconds was given for preparation.

Along with extempore PI was taken. The case study was cancelled.

In PI they asked me to tell me about myself. They asked me to tell them about their company. They asked me about my Six sigma project. They questioned on what percent of business does supply chain consist of. They asked about margins on air freight, ocean freight. They asked about FIFO and LIFO. And also about quantitative techniques on transportation models.
