RESUME FORMAT

The first step in job search is to ensure the resume and have to update your resume often.The purpose of updating your resume is, it reflects your todays qualification and attitude. Resumes should be easy to read, interesting, dynamic, neat, and accurate. Use different resume for different jobs and use a separate cover letter to show your skills and experience for the specific job.


Length of the resume:
Students who have completing a bachelor's degree need to prepare a resume more than one page. If you prepared resume in two pages, the most important information should be contained in the first page, and that the second page should include your name and conatct information.
Common lengths for curriculum vitae are one to three pages for master's degree candidates; one to five pages for doctoral candidates; and five or more pages for an experienced Person or researcher.

Purpose of resume:
Resume is an important tool to get a job interview. It establishes your skills, your education, as well as your work experience.Even the best resume will not get you the job; you'll need to convince the employer during the job interview. Since goal for an employer is to contact you, either for a first interview or for a follow-up interview. You must give employers as many ways to reach you as possible, including postal mailing address, email address, home phone number, cell phone, etc.

Resumes can be written in various format. We can prepare the resumes in three different format.

1.Choronological format
2.Functional format
3.Combined format

Choronological format:
This resume format contains employment history in reverse order with recent position mentioned first. If you want to continue the job in same field, use this resume format.

Functional format:
This resume format contains less job history and focuses on skill categories. In a purely functional resume, company names, employment dates, and position titles are omitted.

Combined format:
Combination of choronological and functional format. some job-seekers may prepare their resumes in a functional format but including work history in reverse choronological order is one of the advantage to them. Job-seekers who have large employment gaps prefer this format because it downplays employment history.
