Tourist Places Of Orissa Visit

Dear friends Today is 14th march of 2010 I had gone to 3 tourist and pilgrim places of orissa.
I will write it down starting from my journey to come back to home.
Me and My family members had planned to go to KAKATPUR (maa mangala).
I stay at Bhubaneswar the capital city of orissa.
KAKATPUR is under puri district and it is 80 kilometer far from Bhubaneswar.
We took our car and start our journey from our home at 9am in the morning and we reached at KAKATPUR at 10:30am.
Then we went to maa Mangala temple .
After completing our worship we then started our journey to Konark.
Konark is famous for SUN TEMPLE.
This is the only place in world where we worship SUN as God and Sun has a temple here.
This sun temple was made in A.D 1200.
so Sun temple is around 800 years old.
from Kakatpur Sun Temple is around 25 kilometer and we reached there at 12:30 noon.
Then we first took our lunch over there.
We went to a hotel named MARWARI HOTEL where we had veg lunch and the plate cost us rs80 only, which contains of Plain Rice,Dal, Mix veg curry,PAneer curry, Salad, Papad, Kheer .

Then we went inside the SUN TEMPLE and the entry fee was Rs10 per person. Children below age of 15 is free and for foreigners the ticket cost is Rs250.

If you take your camera inside then per camera it will cost Rs25.
I have been to sun temple so many times and this time I found that OTDC ( Orissa Tourism Development Corporation) Has started a new panthanivas there which providing boarding and lodging facility for out side visitors with a minimal room charges are Rs400.

At 3 pm we went to puri from konark which is around 30 kilometre.
Puri is so famous in the world because of Lord Jagannath temple and sea beach.
We reached at puri at 3:30 pm then we went to Jagannat Temple.
We return from the temple around 5pm then we went to sea beach.
We had our evening snacks near sea beach restaurants , some took DOSA, some take rolls, some noodles, we had gone to an economical restaurant so for us 8 people it cost us around Rs350 all total.
For out side traveller to puri they have lodge facility starting from rs200 to rs7000.
finally at 8 pm we came back to Bhubaneswar from Puri which is a distance of 60 kilometre.
I enjoyed the whole day. Now feeling very tiered.
Tomorrow morning I have to go to my work again.
