Admission notice
Applications on the prescribed forms are invited from the candidates residing in Punjab, UT of Chandigarh and from Kashmiri Migrants for admission to various undergraduate and master's programmes for the academic session, 2010-11 as per eligibility given below
Undergraduate programmes
B.V.Sc and A.H. 5 year programme: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized board/university with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/BC categories) excluding optional subject
B.F.Sc (Bachelor of fishery sciences) 4-year programme: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized board/university with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/BC categories) excluding optional subject
B.Tech (dairy technology) 4-year programme: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from a recognized board/university with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/BC categories) excluding optional subject
Master's programmes
M.V.Sc: Animal genetics and breeding, animal nutrition, veterinary gynecology and obstetrics, veterinary medicine, livestock production management, livestock products technology, veterinary anatomy, veterinary biochemistry, veterinary microbiology, veterinary parasitology, veterinary pathology, veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, veterinary physiology, veterinary public health, veterinary surgery and radiology and veterinary and animal husbandry extension
The minimum qualifications for admission to M.V.Sc programmes in COVS (other than in service candidates) shall be B.V.Sc & A.H or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate
M.V.Sc/M.Sc (Animal Biotechnology): The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc/M.Sc (Animal Biotechnology) programme (other than in service candidates) shall be B.V.Sc/A.H/B.Sc (Biotechnology/Medical) or B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology and Molecular genetics or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate
M.F.Sc.: the minimum qualification for admission to M.F.Sc programmes (other than in service candidates) shall be B.F.Sc from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in aggregate
(Kashmiri migrants are required to appear in the common entrance test - GADVASU for admission to B.V.Sc & A.H./B.F.Sc/B.Tech (dairy technology) programmes along with other candidates
For in service candidates for all Master's programmes, the OCPA shall be 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination)
Prospectus and application forms: Prospectus containing detail about the schedule of entrance test/counseling/interview/admission procedure, reservation of seats etc along with application form can be obtained from the office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana-141004 from 19.04.2010 onwards either by sending crossed demand draft for Rs 950/- drawn in favour of the Comptroller, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana payable at any scheduled bank at Ludhiana or personally from the office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days on payment of Rs 900/- in cash. Prospectus and application forms will be sent under postal certificate and university will not be responsible for postal delay or loss in transit
Last date for receipt of application forms in the office of the registrar
For undergraduate programmes
Without late fee: 14.05.2010; with late fee of Rs 600/-: 21.05.2010
For master's programmes
Without late fee: 30.06.2010; with late fee of Rs 600/-: 07.07.2010
Incomplete application/applications received without entrance test fee/application received after the prescribed date shall not be entertained
