Facts about bathing and hydrotherapy

Have you ever thought water used in your daily bath can be used for therapeutic purposes?Such bath can cure various diseases too.Hydrotherapy works here.Here I would like to let you know different types of bath.
Hydrotherapy
like its name employs water as a therapeutic agent.Water used here can be either as ice or in liquid or vapour form applied in varying degrees of temperature.These may be either used alone or impregnated with some other substances.A bath can make use of this hydrotherapy.
First of all a bath can be classified according to the temperature of water.
They are
1. Cold bath [ 4.4ºC to 18.3ºC ]
2. Cool bath [ 18.3ºC to 23.8ºC ]
3. Tepid bath [ 29.4ºC to 35ºC ]
4. Warm bath [ 35ºC to 37.7ºC]
5. Hot bath [ 37.7ºC to 43.3ºC ]
6. Very hot bath [ 43.3ºC to 48.8ºC]
Hydrotherapy and warm bath
In this head of the patient is covered with a cold cloth and he is fully immersed in water at 35ºC to 37.7ºC.This is useful in treating sciatica,muscular and articular rheumatism,nerve lesions and severe skin eruptions like pemphigus.
The continuous warm bath can raises the low blood pressure and so it is used in the daily treatment of the mania.
Medicated bath
Medicated bath are of different types varying the compound used in each bath.These bath are good for controlling pimples and smelly sweat as these compounds can kill the micro organism.
Medicated baths are
1.Alkaline bath - Uses sodium carbonate in the bathing water.
2.Boric acid bath - Uses boric acid in the bathing water.
3.Sulphur bath - Uses potassium sulphide in the bathing water.
4.Salt bath - Uses sea salt or sodium chloride in the bathing water.
5.Mustard bath - Uses mustard paste in the bathing water.
6.Bran bath - Uses wheat bran in the bathing water.
In a warm bath you can also add six drops of lavender oil and four drops of geranium oil.Lavender can relieve stress and anxiety
Have a bath which can relax and cure your agony.
