Tips while travelling by train

Dear Readers,

In my previous article on travel tips, I published some major tips for travel by air. One of the reader has requested to write travel tips while travelling by train which is very frequent. The following are some major travel tips to keep in mind always.

- Either on business trip or on holiday, dress casually in which you will be comfortable.

- Check the date of travel and pack the bags well in advance. This will ensure that you have kept all the items that is required in the destination place.

- Do not over burden yourself with excess baggage.

- Carry your ticket and keep in that pocket in which it will be safe and easy to present when the TT demands it.

- Always book return ticket. This will ensure you have a confirmed ticket for return journey.

- Leave well in advance to the railway station and be available in the platform. Do not rush and wait until the last minute. This might cost you by missing that train.

- Keep sufficient money handy which is required during the travel and till you reach the destination. rest of the money either keep in a bag which is under lock and key or some transfer the money by means of electronic transfer to the destination place and draw the money from that place.

- Keep the baggage in such a place where you can keep in eye on it all the time. Espicially when the train is slowing down or on a station.

- If possible, keep all the baggage chained.

- Carry a mobile which has enough credit in it and roaming facility.

- Inform the people at the destination place of your arrival on the date.

- Always remember, know when is the destination place going to come. If not, you may miss the station where you have to get down.

- If you dont know the destination place or being there for the first time, arrange someone at arrival to receive you so that you are not lost while reaching the hotel.

- Inform the people of your origin place of your safe reach to the destination.
