Dry rubber content(DRC) is a term related to latex.It denotes how much rubber is present in a latex.



Dry rubber content
It denotes the weight in gm of rubber present in 100gm latex.This is usually written as DRC.In general we can say that a field latex has a DRC in the range 30-40.In estatea the common method used for the estimation of DRC is hydrometric method.
In the lab,DRC of field latex & concentrated latex are determined using acetic acid.For field latex about 2% acetic acid is used & for concentrated latex 1% acetic acid is used.Concentrated latex is also known as cenex.The DRC of cenex is 60.The method used to determine DRC in the lab is very simple.But care should be taken while doing this.

DRC is usually expressed in terms of unit of DRC.

What will be the principal source of error in DRC experiment?
Incomplete drying is the main error
