The visit to Sanssouci Palace

I was shocked a little, when I heard that no one of my colleagues in the company did not visit Sanssouci complex. I have been in Sanssouci three times and I do not understand how my friends miss such a wonderful place.
Sanssouci Palace was Frederick the Great's summer residence. It was built between 1745 and 1747 in Potsdam, Germany. In 1744 was designed Sanssouci Park for the purpose of cultivation of plums, figs and wine. But, due to the exceptionally beautiful view, the king decided to build a large summer residence. The complex of Sanssouci Palace consists also of other small palaces such as New Chambers, the Orangery Palace, the Chinese House and the Charlottenhof Palace.
There is an interesting story with the name of the complex. It was the royal favorite retreat where he hid from plots and intrigues and where he could leave behind the formalities of the royal court and devote his time to the music and philosophy. The name sans souci means without worry in French.
The main Sanssouci palace is the one storey building, but it is the perfect example of the rococo style. I absolutely adore the Park Sanssouci. There are many statues and fountains in the Park, but the best is Great Fountain, which is situated in front of the Sanssouci Palace The best time to look at it is spring. Because at that time you could not only look at different gardens, with their own character, but could also feel the magic aroma of trees in blossom.
I can only add that the organization of excursions and dishes in restaurants all around are absolutely perfect.
