First, I will let the interviewer Know that there is a problem somewhere because as a project leader monitoring of the project development is the greatest thing to be focus upon. In order to serve as the communication link between the project group and the CEO. So, that in case of any difficulty the CEO would have been briefed and and he at the same time brief the Client about the difficulty and ask for a little extension on the submission of the required service or product to them.
one first question I will ask them if there is anything I did for them to warrant sabotaging the effort of the company at this crucial stage.
I will tell CEO that the is a problem? And the job may not be submitted as scheduled and the company need to ask for a little extension on the project while there will be evaluation of the cause of the problem from the team.
The Client will be encouraged to exercise a little patience as there is a little technical discovery that might increase the quality of the project; instead of delivery a sub standard one. And apologize for the disappointment which is for better delivery and promise to compensate for the delay.

Even i tried to say some thing like that but for every answer i say he is just opposing me just by saying that the client is my regular customer.I dont want to lose him at any cost .If at all you failed to complete my project by 30 of this month im going to get a loss of 50 crore.will you pay me such amount?
At this situation im unable to answer him.As a fresher what could i know about this situation.

hello deepu
i think these type of questions do not have correct answer.basically the interviewer look at your way of approach.how you are responsing at that situation.if any sudden thing happen how is you facial expressions.how is your body language and eye contact.they also look at your face,they observe are you feeling tension or not.
i think if you maintain all these things then answer doesnt matter.
