Two Styles of Resumes

1) Chronological (reverse)
2) Functional

Reverse Chronological resumes list your work experience from most recent experience back to your first job. Each job gets a brief (couple line) description, followed by bullet points where you highlight the skills your learned in the jobs. Remember, particularly important in your case, although you may have worked for the same employer forever (the military), you probably were assigned to a number of different roles throughout your time. In this case, each role or "position" can be written up like a separate job.

Functional resumes (sometimes called a CV) list the major skill sets that you've learned throughout your career with a short description of each. Within each section (where one section relates to one major skill) you list the jobs that focused on those skills.

The reverse chronological resume is the commonest by far. But in your case, if your work history is looking like one big blur, a functional resume, where you can more clearly separate out the skills you've learned, may be more appropriate.

Remember, to tailor make your resume for the type of jobs you're looking for. For instance, while "loading bombs" may be a wonderful skill to have, it's completely irrelevant to most civilian jobs. But "people management", or "time management" or "data entry" may be entirely relevant skill sets. Do you have major skills which you think are in demand?
