Micromax Andro -Cheapest android phone available in Indian Market
Micromax Inc. came into the mobile handset market of India on 2008. As by promoting the brand as a sponsor in a few Cricket matches, the company gained the popularity in Indian market. Currently Micromax holds the credit of the third largest mobile handset seller in India and becomes one of the favorite mobile brands among Indian users.
Micromax introduced its first andro mobile in market around November 2010. Company branded their new andro phone as Micromax A60 and fix the MRP on 6999/-. The main attraction on A60 is its cheap price tag, while comparing other biggies in the market (eg: Samsung, HTC, Nokia etc). We can look into the specifications of Micromax A60 on brief.
Andro Specifications :
Screen Interface :
As you seen in the picture, the handset is quite sleek and very light weight for handling. With all Android navigational menus, the touch screen width is 2.8inch. If you are going to compare the screen display size with other andro phones, you will get a little upset because of its small screen. Don't expect a fine clear touch sensitivity on this phone because you wont get it, but if you used any other Micromax touch phones then the sensitivity will be alright. I'd many problems while using the phone at first time, that many of the times while pressing A in the virtual keyboard its going to display some other letters. It took multiple attempts for me to type a better message for sending. I heard that someone called it as a Touchscreen Caliberation that a user needs to get familiar with the virtual keyboard for the better typing. A small suggestion is that try Swype support, it will give you more better option on your erroneous typing.
Camera & Sound :
I was worried while buying A60 about the camera specification, that Samsung Andro mobile on this price range is giving only 2MP camera. But A60 had gone much further and it given a good 3.2MP camera on back. As per the brochure it says that the camera will get manages to shoot fairly good snaps in daylight, with above average detail and color tone accuracy and also supports the low-light shots. I did not expect too much on this camera shots so I was happy on the picture taken with this camera. We can take videos and can share to our YouTube/Facebook accounts directly with the application provided.
Sound is just ok and if you are listening with your headphone provided, you will be happier. But again I need to tell you that don't expect much more sound clarity and effects on this phone if you do so then it will be a lose.
Now the most interesting part, the software section. The device is made with Android 2.1 version. This is one of the interested thing that live up to my expectation on this device. More preciously saying it's Android 2.1 Éclair (Google's open-source mobile OS) which makes effortlessly to dominates its predecessors in the software department of mobile OS. But the present OS version is not the latest available in Android series, still you can manage with variety of applications that supports. One of more advantage is that the Android 2.1 will give native support for your Microsoft Exchange and it will speed up the performance of your Web browser.
Other Miscellaneous :
I shouldn't forget to tell you about the fantastic battery life that provides by Micromax. It uses 1280 mAh Li-ion Battery that provides a two day full charge for a normal user.
The call quality is good. The voice is pretty clear and loud in listening by both through headphone and with loudspeaker. Still you can go for ample number of connectivity options like Bluetooth, GPS , HSPDA, Wi-Fi etc. that will make you happier.
Andro A60 has 150 MB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32Gb via microSD card. The device is shipped with plenty of applications that will run in android OS but if you want to load more you can still download the application and install.
Final Word :
Are you a mobile user who wants to give a try on android phones? Then definitely, Andro is for you. The cheapest price tag on Android 2.1 is the best attraction. The things that you may not like may be its resistive key pad, small screen, no dual-sim feature and definitely its non-generous look. But if you used Micromax touch phones before then it would be a big problem. There is a news that Micromax is planning to launch another Android phone with a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display, Android 2.2 Froyo and an affordable 7 inch Android tablet. So for others lets wait and watch the new hotties to come on the market.
