In this resource I will provide the classification of chromatographic techniques.



Chromatography can be classified as
1)Partition Chromatography: This involves liquid or gas as mobile phase and another liquid or solid as a stationary phase.
The operations include:
i) Partition column chromatography.
ii) Paper chromatography.
iii) Thin layer chromatography.
iv) Gas-liquid chromatography.
v) High performance liquid chromatography.

2) Adsorption Chromatography: In this type of chromatography liquid or gas is used as mobile phase and adsorbent solid as stationary phase. The types of adsorption chromatography are:
i) Adsorption column chromatography
ii) Thin layer chromatography
iii) Gas-solid chromatography.
