Common Proficiency Test (CPT) 2008

CPT Examination Form available from 4th April’08
Last Date of Submission of Form is 25th April’08
It is notified that, in terms of the decision of the Council of the Institute,
Common Proficiency Test (CPT) examination will henceforth will be held twice a
year in the months of June and December every year, instead of four times in the
months of February, May, August and November.
Accordingly, the next Common Proficiency Test (examination) will be held
on Sunday, the 8th June 2008 all over India and abroad at Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
For being eligible to appear in CPT examination, a student should have passed
or already appeared in 12th class examination of a recognized Board and
registered for the course at least two months prior to first day of the month in
which CPT examination is scheduled to be held. The eligibility requirements are
briefly stated below –
i) Should have passed or already appeared in 12th class recognized
examination. (Students who are appearing in 12th class examination in March/April 2008 are also eligible to appear in CPT to be held on 8th June 2008)
ii) Should be registered for CPT course with Board of Studies of the
Institute on or before 1st April 2008 positively.
Students already registered for erstwhile Foundation/PE-I course are also
eligible to apply for conversion to CPT course. Such students intending to
appear in CPT June 2008 are also required to apply for conversion to CPT
course on or before 1st April 2008 positively.
In the year 2008, there shall be one more CPT examination scheduled to
be held in December 2008. The tentative date of examination would be 7th
December 2008 (subject to change) and students should be registered for CPT
course with Board of Studies of the Institute on or before 1st October 2008.
Students who have passed or already appeared in 12th class recognized
examination shall be eligible to appear in CPT December 2008. It is clarified that students who would be due to appear in 12th class examination in March 2009 or thereafter shall not (repeat NOT) be eligible to appear in CPT to be held in December 2008.
The last date for getting registered for CPT course with Board of Studies
of the regional/decentralized offices of ICAI for those students intending to
appear in CPT examination to be held in June 2008 is 1st April, 2008.
CPT Prospectus containing registration/conversion form is available for
Rs.100/= from all Regional and branch offices of the Institute all over India.

can have further details of CPT course.
After getting registered for CPT course, students are also required to fill in
CPT examination form separately. For CPT examination June 2008,
Examination Information Brochure cum Application Form costing Rs.400/=
(inclusive of examination fee) would be available from all regional and branch
offices of ICAI from 4th April 2008 onwards.
Last date to submit examination form would be 25th April 2008. There is no provision to submit examination form with
late fee.
