APRIL 11 - 13, 2008
ABOUT THE SHORT TERM COURSE :
The basic objective of organizing this workshop is to impart the fundamental concepts on Fuzzy Logic particularly to the industry personnel. In the recent past fuzzy logic has emerged as a front runner in industrial control and such a course can benefit the engineers from industry to a greater extent to understand the principle on which such control techniques have been developed. Further, the academic community can also gain from such short term courses which will enhance their expertise on this subject. The participants can get a very good feel about this course and can then be able to develop controllers and or simulate models of complex systems on fuzzy logic platform.
INSTITUTE OVERVIEW :
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is in the Steel city of Rourkela which is well connected by rail and road. The location of the institute is about 6 kms. from Rourkela railway station situated between Howrah – Mumbai link and 2 kms. from Sector-2 bus stand. The institution is offering ten courses in B.Tech. program, fifteen specializations in M.Tech. program, three post-graduate program in Basic sciences and MCA with excellent infrastructure for pursuing Doctoral program.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING :
This department runs two post-graduate programs one in electronic Systems & Communication and the other one in Power Control & Drives. This dept. has well equipped modern labs such as Power Electronics & Drives, Soft Computing, Signal Processing & Communication, Image Processing & Computer Vision, Embedded Systems & Real time, and Robotics for carrying out research in allied fields.
