Bhavani – Tamil Movie Review
Cast: Sneha, Koota Srinivasa Rao, Sampath Kumar, Paravai muniyamma, Vivek
Director : G. Kicha
Music : Dhina
Genre : Action
Sneha plays the as Bhavani (a powerful assistant police commissioner). Paravai muniyamma took the role of Bhavani grandmother. Koota Srinivasa Rao plays the role of Shiva lingam, a local MLA. Vivek acted as the straightforward policeman Girivalam.
Bhavani, assistant commissioner of police took charge in a town where shivalingam runs a separate government for himself as a local MLA of that town. There is nothing to tell much about the story; it is same as a typical police story except that in this movie instead of policeman, a policewoman is facing the rowdies. Sneha hoped to become another Vijayashanthi (plays as a successful police officer in Vyjayanthi IPS, more than a half decade old movie), but unfortunately she failed to do so. Direction also took part of that failure.
Paravai muniyamma, grandmother of Bhavani, did a same role as in Vikram's Drool movie. She sang a song in this movie, as in the same situation that comes in Dhool movie. Vivek tried to make as laugh in this movie, coming as a straight forward police man.
Director really missed to use the characters in the right way. The whole movie sounds with Koota Srinivasa Rao's voice of rowdies. In most frames the assistance in fighting scene for Sneha is clearly identifiable. We need to search for Sampath Kumar in the whole movie except in the first some scenes and comes only at the climax to end the movie. Director really missed to use the character, Sampath Kumar, which is the strong one. Music does not score much. Songs are not remembering able.
Now-a-days any movie can hit box-office easily depends on the style the story is told and the characterisation. I think this movie missed the both in itself. So the movie comes below average category. This movie also has been done a very worst mistake by swallowing the "Punnagai Illavarasi's" (how Sneha used to refer in kollywood), full and full sexy, glamorous smile. This creates disappointment to all her fans. This movie tried to inspire Vyjayanthi IPS, but failed to impress.
This movie is worth to watch if you get bored and do not have any movie to watch thereafter. I am very sorry for the Bhavani team. Better luck next time.
Stars out of 5 :2 (very hard to give, anyway they tried a policewoman story after a long time).
Suggestion Director would have to try some more remake movies to get practiced in approach a character in a right way. Try a character focused movie until get practiced to do so. It requires more experience to attract the audiences with one character based story.
