Maharishi Markendeshwar at Mullana started with just one Engineering College in the foothills of Shivalik Hills with just 180 students and 13 faculty members, the campus today is having more than 10000 students and more than 1100 faculty members. The campus here is offering about 150 courses at undergraduate level, post graduation level and doctoral level. The built up area of the campus is spread over an area of 45 lakh square feet.
Maharishi Markendeshwar University is one of the prestigious universities of state as well as the country. MMU was founded in the year 1993 by a great visionary and promoter of education Mr Tarsem Garg. The university is being run under the renowned MM University Trust.

History of Maharishi Markendeshwar University

Maharishi Markendeshwar University is being run by MM University Trust which was founded by Mr Tarsem Garg in the year 1993. There are 17 institutions being run by the renowned Trust.All the courses being run by the university are approved by the respective regulating authorities. Ten of the institutions were given the status of Deemed University in the name of Maharishi Markendeshwar University by the Government of India under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.
