Whenever you are answering a question to someone you must have a positive set of mind. You must show the other person that you are interested to answer his question. A person to whom you are answering a question may not be interesting to you but remember that each and every question is interesting. Show the person your interest with the question. The person asks you a question because expects a positive result from you. You must show your willingness to answer a question.

Proper language and intonation

You must formulate a sentence in a right way and make your conversation interesting. If you do not possess the skill then try to develop it. Try to answer many questions as you can to the people around you, so that during the most needful hour you can answer in a better way. You must preferably not commit grammatical mistakes or commit such mistakes that are visible to the listener. Everybody does not possess good grammatical skills to point out your small errors but do not commit grave mistakes. Use a proper tone to answer the question. Answer the question preferably in a rising tone but variations in between. Do not speak monotonously or if you are habituated to such tone, then try to develop to make variations. Do not be so prompt that you begin answering the question before the person has finished asking. If you do not allow the speaker to complete his question then you may answer in a wrong way which irritates the person who has asked. This concept should be borne in mind before you attend any interview. Allow the interviewer to complete his question to start answering. Do not start answering the question until you grasp the message clearly.

Understand the question

Before you answer any question understand and interpret the question correctly. If you have doubts regarding the question clarify and then answer. Understand the message of the question clearly and formulate in mind what the question actually means? The moment the person begins asking question formulate in your mind clearly and then go ahead. To understand the question properly you must pay attention to the person. Without your attention you definitely shall deliver a wrong answer which irritates the person.

Know the expectations of the person

Before you answer a question try to understand what is the person exactly asking for and why is he asking the question in that way? If you do not understand the result the person wants to obtain then you can ask him for clarification. Since you are rendering some service however small, you have the right to know the desired outcome from the question. You must try to know the motivation of the person who is asking the question.

Body language

Body language is an important aspect of the speech. When you are answering a question remember that you are in an elevated position so answer with a proper use of body language. Your body language should sound bold and confident. Try to explain different concepts by the movements of your hands. If you are confident about the concept you speak then your body language becomes quick.

If you happen to falter

If you happen to falter in your speech while answering, just say 'sorry' and move to the next aspect of the speech and get back to the older concept after you can revive it. Preferably do not try to falter but prepare beforehand.
